Envoys of Four Nations Present Credentials to President Ram Nath Kovind  

The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, accepted credentials from Ambassadors of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Republic of Slovenia, Israel and the Arab Republic of Egypt in Ashok Hall, Rashtrapati Bhavan today (October 26, 2021). This was the first such event held in physical mode after the Covid-19 pandemic. Those who presented their credentials were:
  1. Ms. Peggy Frantzen, Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg
  2. Ms. Mateja Vodeb Ghosh, Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia
  3. Mr. Naor Gilon, Ambassador of Israel
  4. Mr. Wael Mohamed Awad Hamed, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt
The President Ram Nath Kovind congratulated the envoys on their appointment and wished them success in strengthening of bilateral ties and for their well-being and progress and prosperity of the friendly people. During his interactions, the President also highlighted the close bonds that India shared with the countries and the multifaceted relationship that India enjoyed with them.


India-UK maiden Tri-Service exercise ‘Konkan Shakti 2021’ 

The sea phase of maiden Tri-Service exercise 'Konkan Shakti 2021' between the Armed Forces of India and United Kingdom (UK) is being held off the Konkan coast in the Arabian Sea. On completion of the harbour planning phase, the sea phase of the exercise commenced on October 24, 2021. It will continue till October 27, 2021.

All participating units were split into two opposing forces with the aim of achieving sea control to land Army ground-troops at a pre-designated site. One force was led by the Flag Officer Commanding Western Fleet and comprised the flag ship INS Chennai, other warships of the Indian Navy and HMS Richmond, the Royal Navy’s Type 23 frigate. The other force operated under the UK Carrier Strike Group comprising aircraft carrier, HMS Queen Elizabeth, other UK and Netherland naval ships and Indian warships.


Glasgow, United Kingdom to host COP-26 summit from Oct 31 

The most critical climate change conference since the Paris Agreement, the 26th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP-26) is to be hosted by the United Kingdom in Glasgow from 31st of October to 12th of November.


PM Modi launches PM Ayushman Bharat Infrastructure Mission 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the PM Ayushman Bharat Infrastructure Mission from Varanasi with a total outlay of 64,180 crore rupees.

According to PM Modi, the PM Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission aims to strengthen the critical healthcare network from village to block to the district to the regional and national level in the next four-five years.


Jyotiraditya Scindia virtually flags off first direct flight on Shillong-Dibrugarh route under UDAN  

Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia virtually flagged off the first direct flight on the Shillong – Dibrugarh route under the Regional Connectivity Scheme – #UdeDeshKaAamNaagrik (RCS-UDAN) of the Government of India.

Due to the non-availability of any direct mode of transportation, people were compelled to cover a long 12-hour journey by road & train to travel between Shillong & Dibrugarh. Now, natives can easily fly between the two cities by opting for a flight of just 75 mins.

The airline Indigo was awarded the Shillong - Dibrugarh route during the UDAN 4 bidding process. The airlines are being provided Viability Gap Funding (VGF) under the UDAN scheme to keep the fares affordable & accessible for the common people. The airline will deploy its 78-seater ATR 72 aircraft.


Sarbananda Sonowal to Inaugurate Incubation Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at All India Institute of Ayurveda 

Union Ayush Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will inaugurate the Incubation Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (AIIA- iCAINE) at All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), on 29th Oct 2021 at a program organized in Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi.

A national seminar on "Start-ups in Ayush Sector- Scope and Opportunities (AYUR-UDYAMAH)” is also being organized on 30th October as a part of the program.

The event will witness representatives from Ayurveda Sector across the country, and about 400 AYUSH institutes and MoU partners working in collaboration with AIIA.


India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 102.94 Cr; Recovery Rate currently at 98.19%

With the administration of 64,75,733 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 102.94 Cr (1,02,94,01,119) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

The recovery of 15,951 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,35,83,318.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.19%. Recovery Rate is currently at its highest peak since March 2020. 12,428 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours. This is the lowest in 238 days.

The Active Caseload remains below 2 lakh mark and is presently at1,63,816 which is lowest in 241 days.Active cases presently constitute 0.48% of the country's total Positive Cases, which is lowest since March 2020.

The Weekly Positivity Rate at 1.24% remains less than 2% for the last 32 days now. The Daily Positivity rate reported to be 1.10%. The daily Positivity rate has remained below 2% for the last 22 days and below 3% for 57 consecutive days now.
