India, ADB sign USD 4.5 million loan agreement to support urban mobility in Mizoram  

The Government of India and the Asian Development Bank today signed a $4.5 million project readiness financing (PRF) loan to support project preparation and design activities to improve urban mobility in Aizawl, the capital city of the northeastern state of Mizoram.

President Ram Nath Kovind to visit Gujarat from October 28 to 30 

The President of India Ram Nath Kovind will visit Gujarat from October 28 to 30, 2021. On October 29, 2021, the President will inaugurate a Housing Scheme Project for the Economically Weaker Section at Bhavnagar. He will also visit Shree Chitrakut Dham, Ashram of Morari Babu at Talgajarda in Bhavnagar district.


Civil Aviation Minister Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia releases Krishi UDAN 2.0  

Union Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya M. Scindia released Krishi UDAN 2.0. Krishi UDAN 2.0 lays out the vision of improving value realization through better integration and optimization of Agri-harvesting and air transportation and contributing to Agri-value chain sustainability and resilience under different and dynamic conditions. The scheme proposes to facilitate and incentivize movement of Agri-produce by air transportation.

The Krishi UDAN 2.0 will be implemented at 53 airports across the country mainly focusing on Northeast and tribal regions and is likely to benefit farmers, freight forwarders and Airlines. The Ministry of Civil Aviation plans to pilot the scheme for 6 months, and will introduce amendments based on results of the evaluation & consultations with other stakeholders.


Raksha Rajya Mantri Ajay Bhatt flags off NIMAS multidimensional adventure sports expedition to Europe  

Raksha Rajya Mantri Ajay Bhatt flagged off upcoming National Institute of Mountaineering & Allied Sports (NIMAS) multidimensional adventure sports expedition to Europe, in New Delhi on October 27, 2021.

The NIMAS will be conducting this expedition in the general area Chamonix, France in November 2021, which is considered the adventure capital of Europe. Expedition will be led by NIMAS Director Col Sarfraz Singh.

The locations of the expedition are (i) Alps Mountains; (ii) Chamonix; (iii) Normandy and (iv) English Channel.


India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 103.53 Cr; Recovery Rate currently at 98.19%

With the administration of 55,89,124 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 103.53 Cr (1,03,53,25,577) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

The recovery of 14,021 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,35,97,339. 

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.19%. Recovery Rate is currently at its highest peak since March 2020. 13,451 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

The Active Caseload remains below 2 lakh mark and is presently at 1,62,661 which is lowest in 242 days. Active cases presently constitute 0.48% of the country's total Positive Cases, which is lowest since March 2020.

The Weekly Positivity Rate at 1.22% remains less than 2% for the last 33 days now. The Daily Positivity rate reported to be 1.03%. The daily Positivity rate has remained below 2% for the last 23 days and below 3% for 58 consecutive days now.
