CLOSING CEREMONY: The 15th Edition of Indo-Nepal Joint Training Exercise, 2021 EXERCISE SURYA KIRAN XV culminated at Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand after 14 days of rigorous training.

Indo - Nepal Exercise SURYA KIRAN 2021: Objective

The objective of the Indo - Nepal Exercise SURYA KIRAN is to conduct a battalion level joint training between the Indian Army and the Nepal Army to combat jungle warfare and terrorist operations in mountainous terrain, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief, interoperability in aviation aspects including medical and environmental protection.

Regional Ayurveda Research Institute signs MoU with Sikkim Manipal University for collaborative research  

The Regional Ayurveda Research Institute (RARI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sikkim Manipal University (SMU) to conduct collaborative research in mutually identified areas and promote research activities.

The MoU aims at promoting relations and mutual understanding between the two institutions to recognise their strengths in research and education in one or more disciplines of science, medical and allied health sciences.


Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurates 527 km long National Highway in Ahmednagar, Maharashtra  

Union Road Transport and Highway Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated National Highway projects totalling a length of 527 km, worth Rs 4,075 crore at Ahmednagar district in Maharashtra.

Key Highlights

The 527 Km road development projects in Ahmednagar district will be implemented through the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, National Highways Authority of India and Public Works Department, Government of Maharashtra.

These projects include: 1) Four-laning of Ahmednagar-Karmala-Tembhurni section of NH-516A at an expense of Rs 2,013 crore, Upgradation of Savali Bihar to Ahmednagar Bypass Section of NH-160 at a cost of Rs. 496 crore, Strengthening of Ahmednagar and Bhingar city portion of NH-61 (old NH-222) at a cost of Rs 35 crore, Upgradation of Adhalgaon to Jamkhed section of NH 548D at a cost of Rs. 400 crore and fourteen projects under Central Road Infrastructure Fund worth Rs 85 crore.


World's largest Khadi Tricolour unfurled in Ladakh on Gandhi Jayanti  

World's largest Khadi national flag was installed at Leh in Ladakh on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti yesterday. It was inaugurated by Ladakh Lieutenant Governor RK Mathur. The tricolor, which is 225-feet long and 150-feet wide, weighs around 1,000 kg.

Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane was also present along with other army officials during the inauguration of the flag.


Air Force hosts Kabaddi Championship in Base Repair Depot, Palam  

The Air Force hosted Kabaddi Championship from 27 Sep 21 to 01 Oct 21, in Base Repair Depot, Palam under the aegis of Air Force Sports Control Board.

The event was inaugurated by Air Cmde SS Rehal VSM, Air Officer Commanding Base Repair Depot, Palam on 27 Sep 21. A total of eight teams comprising 120 air warriors from all Commands and Air HQ participated in the event.

The event was also graced by Arjuna Awardees Ram Mehar Singh and Shri Anoop Singh and Dronacharya Awardee Shri Balwan Singh who acted as morale boosters for all the participants including young promising Kabaddi players who witnessed the closing ceremony.


Nagaland to host 56th National Cross Country Championships in 2022  

Nagaland will host the 56th National Cross Country Championships in 2022. According to the Associate Vice President of Athletics Federation of India (AFI) Abu Metha the Championship is likely to be held on 15th of January 2022 in Kohima.

On the occasion of the 152nd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, the renovated Gandhi Museum was inaugurated at the historic Gandhi Ashram Trust in Noakhali, Bangladesh.

The Gandhi Museum inaugurated by the Foreign Minister of Bangladesh Dr A K Abdul Momen, Law Minister Advocate Anisul Huq and High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh Vikram Doraiswami.


India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage crosses the landmark of 90 Cr; Recovery Rate currently at 97.87%

With the administration of 73,76,846 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage crossed the landmark of 90 Cr (90,51,75,348) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 97.87%. Recovery Rate is currently at its highest peak since March 2020. 22,842 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

The Weekly Positivity Rate at 1.66% remains less than 3% for the last 100 days now. The Daily Positivity rate reported to be 1.80%. The daily Positivity rate has remained below 3% for the last 34 days and below 5% for 117 consecutive days now.
