1. India successfully tests Surface-to-Surface Ballistic Missile Agni-5 with 5000 Km Range
  • India successfully launched Agni-5, a surface-to-surface ballistic missile, from APJ Abdul Kalam Island in Odisha on October 27, 2021.
  • The Agni-5, a surface-to-surface ballistic missile, which uses a three-stage solid fuelled engine, is capable of striking targets at ranges up to 5,000 kilometers with a very high degree of accuracy.


2. India, ADB sign USD 100 million loan agreement for agribusiness development in Maharashtra
  • The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Government of India today signed a $100 million loan to promote agribusiness networks to boost farm incomes and reduce food losses in the State of Maharashtra.
  • The project supports agribusiness development in Maharashtra with holistic support to on-farm improvement in productivity, up-gradation of post-harvest facilities, and establishing efficient marketing structures to benefit horticulture producers.


3. CEC of India Sushil Chandra visits Uzbekistan as an International Observer for Presidential Elections
  • On the invitation of the Chairman, Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan, (CEC-U), Chief Election Commissioner of India Sushil Chandra led a three member delegation to Uzbekistan in order to observe the conduct of Presidential elections held on October 24, 2021.

4. Hardeep Singh Puri to inaugurate the 14th Urban Mobility Conference 2021
  • The 14th edition of Urban Mobility India (UMI) Conference is being organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs on 29th October 2021. a day-long Conference will be held on-line through Video Conference/Webinar.

  • Union Minister for Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) Hardeep Singh Puri launched the operational guidelines of Swachh Bharat Mission – Urban 2.0 and AMRUT 2.0.
  • This follows the ceremonial launch of SBM-Urban 2.0 and AMRUT 2.0 by Prime Minister Modi on 1st October 2021.


6. Indian Coast Guard Ship ‘Sarthak’ dedicated to the Nation
  • The indigenously built Indian Coast Guard Ship ‘Sarthak’ was commissioned and dedicated to the nation on October 28, 2021 at Goa by the Director General of Indian Coast Guard K Natarajan.
  • ICGS Sarthak will be based at Porbandar in Gujarat and operate on India’s Western Seaboard under the Operational and Administrative Control of the Commander, Coast Guard Region (Northwest). ICGS Sarthak is commanded by Deputy Inspector General MM Syed and has a complement of 11 Officers and 110 men.


7. India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 104.04 Cr; Recovery Rate currently at 98.20%
  • With the administration of 49,09,254 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 104.04 Cr (1,04,04,99,873) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.
  • The recovery of 17,095 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,36,14,434.
  • Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.20%. Recovery Rate is currently at its highest peak since March 2020. 16,156 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
