PM Narendra Modi inaugurates Purvanchal Expressway in Uttar Pradesh      

Uttar Pradesh Elections 2022: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visits Uttar Pradesh and inaugurates Purvanchal Expressway at Karwal Kheri in Sultanpur district, Uttar Pradesh.

After the inauguration, the Prime Minister also witnessed an Airshow by the Indian Air Force on the 3.2 km long airstrip constructed on the Expressway in Sultanpur district to enable landing/take-off of Indian Air Force fighter planes in case of emergency.

About as Purvanchal Expressway

The Purvanchal Expressway is 341 Km long. It starts from village Chaudsarai, district Lucknow located on Lucknow-Sultanpur road (NH-731) and ends at village Hydaria located on National Highway No. 31, 18 km east of UP-Bihar border. The expressway is 6-lane wide which can be expanded to 8-lane in future. Constructed at an estimated cost of about Rs 22500 crore, the Purvanchal Expressway is going to give a boost to the economic development of eastern part of Uttar Pradesh especially the districts of Lucknow, Barabanki, Amethi, Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Ambedkar Nagar, Azamgarh, Mau and Ghazipur.


3rd edition of India, Singapore and Thailand Trilateral Maritime Exercise SITMEX – 21  

Indian Naval Ship (INS) Karmuk, an indigenously built Missile Corvette is participating in the 3rd edition of India, Singapore and Thailand Trilateral Maritime Exercise SITMEX – 21 held in Andaman Sea from 15 to 16 November 2021.

Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) is represented by RSS Tenacious,a Formidable Class Frigate and Royal Thai Navy (RTN) by His Majesty’s Thailand Ship (HTMS) Thayanchon, a Khamrosin Class Anti-submarine Patrol Craft.

Aims & Key Highlights

SITMEX is being conducted annually since 2019 with an aim to enhance mutual inter-operability and imbibing best practices between Indian Navy (IN), RSN and RTN. The maiden edition of SITMEX was hosted by IN off Port Blair in September 2019. RSN hosted the second edition of the exercise in November 2020. The 2021 edition of the exercise is being hosted by RTN in the Andaman Sea.


‘Rashtra Raksha Samparpan Parv’ to be held in Jhansi, UP from Nov 17-19 

‘Rashtra Raksha Samparpan Parv’ will be held in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh from November 17-19, 2021. These events are part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahaotsav’ celebrations.

India, ADB sign $61 million loan agreement to improve Urban Services in Agartala City, Tripura  

The Government of India and Asian Development Bank (ADB) signed a $61 million loan to improve livability, harness technology, and promote new developments to accommodate the expanding population in Agartala city while building capacity of state agencies for improved service delivery.

Key Highlights

The Project will build and upgrade 48 kilometers (km) of new or existing storm water drainage and construct 23 km of climate-resilient urban roads. Other interventions would include renovating open spaces and creating water recreation and lakeside walkways in the Maharaja Bir Bikram College lake and the Ujjayanta Palace which are major tourist attractions in the city.

Developing Agartala’s central and north zones as models of area-based development following the principles of smart city mission initiative is expected to have a ripple effect on other parts of the city and nearby cities and towns by making urban areas more livable, citizen-friendly, resilient, and sustainable.


Kashi Utsav' is being held in Varanasi to celebrate the classic heritage and culture of Kashi  

Kashi Utsav, a three-day festival is being organised in Varanasi to celebrate the classic heritage and culture of Kashi especially the centuries-old luminaries who are Goswami Tulsidas, Sant Kabir, Sant Raidas, Bhartendu Harishchandra, Munshi Premchand and Shri Jaishankar Prasad. The programme will be organised at Rudraksh International Cooperation and Convention Centre, Varanasi from 16th - 18th November, 2021.

A theme has been dedicated to each day of the festival and these are: ‘Kashi ke Hastakshar’; ‘Kabir, Raidas ki Bani aur Nirgun Kashi’ and ‘Kavita aur Kahani - Kashi ki Zubani’. The first day will focus on eminent literary figures, Bhartendu Harishchandra and Shri Jaishankar Prasad. The second day will highlight prominent poets, Sant Raidas and Sant Kabirdas and the final day will have Goswami Tulsidas and Munshi Premchand as focal points.


India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 112.97 Cr; Recovery Rate currently at 98.27%

With the administration of 59,75,469 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 112.97 Cr (1,12,97,84,045) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

The recovery of 11,971 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,38,61,756.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.27%. 8,865 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

The Active Caseload is presently at 1,30,793 is lowest in 525 days. Active cases presently constitute 0.38% of the country's total Positive Cases, which is lowest since March 2020.

The Weekly Positivity Rate at 0.97% remains less than 2% for the last 53 days now. The Daily Positivity rate reported to be 0.80%. The daily Positivity rate has remained below 2% for last 43 days and below 3% for 78 consecutive days now.
