Prime Minister Narendra Modi participates in 18th India-ASEAN Summit 2021    

Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the 18th India-ASEAN Summit at the invitation of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei, the current Chair of ASEAN. The Summit was held virtually and saw participation from the Leaders of ASEAN Member States.

India has contributed medical supplies worth USD 200,000 to ASEAN’s humanitarian initiative for Myanmar and USD 1 million for ASEAN’s Covid-19 Response Fund.

The leaders exchanged views on enhancing India-ASEAN connectivity in broadest terms including physical, digital and people to people. To further strengthen India-ASEAN cultural connectivity, the Prime Minister announced India’s support for establishing the ASEAN Cultural Heritage List. On trade and investment, he underlined the importance of diversification and resilience of supply chains for post-COVID economic recovery and in this regard, the need to revamp the India-ASEAN FTA.


Indo-UK Tri-Service Exercise ‘Konkan Shakti 2021’ Concludes in Arabian Sea  

The maiden bilateral tri-service exercise, Konkan Shakti 21, between the armed forces of India and the UK culminated in the Arabian Sea on 27 October 2021.

The smooth execution of the first edition of the Exercise ‘Konkan Shakti 2021’ is a testament to the professional capabilities, mutual understanding and shared commitment of both the countries and their personnel in uniform.

Key Highlights

Spanning over four days, the exercise saw the two defence forces work in cohesion through a series of complex multi-service combat drills in all domains of maritime operations - air, surface and subsurface. Drills undertaken during the exercise involved ‘replenishment at sea’ practice, Strike Operations by fighter aircrafts, Cross Control of helicopters, simulated induction of army troops, gun shoots on expendable air targets, advanced air and subsurface exercises, composite helicopter formation fly-past and large force engagement involving fighter aircraft of the UK (F35B), Indian Navy (MiG 29K) and Indian Air Force (SU-30 and Jaguar), all of which reflected high synergy, professionalism and readiness of both nations to conduct joint maritime operations, when required.


PM Modi to visit Kedarnath on 5th November and inaugurate Shri Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi  

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit kedarnath, Uttarakhand on 5th November 2021.

Prime Minister Modi will offer prayers at the Kedarnath Temple. He will thereafter inaugurate Shri Adi Shankaracharya Samadhi and unveil the statue of Shri Adi Shankaracharya. The Samadhi has been reconstructed after the destruction in the 2013 floods. The entire reconstruction work has been undertaken under the guidance of the Prime Minister, who has constantly reviewed and monitored the progress of the project.

Prime Minister Modi will review and inspect the executed and ongoing works along the Saraswati Aasthapath.


Agriculture Minister Tomar and LG Sinha virtually inaugurated Apple Festival in Kashmir  

Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar and J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha virtually inaugurated the Apple Festival, organized for the first time in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir.


Jyotiraditya Scindia inaugurates COVID Health Care Centre at Indira Gandhi International Airport  

Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia inaugurated a dedicated COVID Health Care Centre at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi.

A total of 15 Paediatric High Dependency Unit (HDU) beds, 18 Adult HDU beds and 52 Isolation beds are available at this centre. Besides, 85 oxygen concentrators have also been arranged here. AI-enabled cameras have been installed for monitoring of all the activities inside the centre, along with all other medical equipment for HDU and Isolation beds as per best industry practices.


PM Modi leaves on a five-day visit to Italy and UK to attend G20 Summit and COP26 World Leaders Summit  

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left on a five-day visit to Italy and the United Kingdom last night to attend the 16th G20 Summit and the World Leaders’ Summit of COP-26.

During the first leg of his visit PM Modi will reach Rome to participate in the G-20 Summit from October 30th to 31st at the invitation of Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi.

The summit will be attended by Heads of State of G-20 Member Countries, the European Union, and other invited countries and International Organizations.

Following his Rome visit, Prime Minister Modi will leave for Glasgow to attend the World Leaders' Summit of the 26th Conference of Parties (COP-26) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.


BRICS Joint Statistical Publication, JSP Snapshot released  

The 13th Meeting of Heads of National Statistical Offices of BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) Countries was held virtually under the Chairship of India.

The theme of the meeting was NSOs efforts in monitoring Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) wherein speakers from BRICS NSOs highlighted efforts taken so far as well as future plan in terms of data and methodologies in monitoring of SDGs.

The meeting was attended by representatives from the National Statistical Offices (NSOs) of BRICS Countries. During the meeting, the Joint Statistical Publication (JSP) 2021 and JSP Snapshot 2021 for BRICS Countries were released.


India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 104.82 Cr: Recovery Rate currently at 98.19%

With the administration of 74,33,392 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 104.82 Cr (1,04,82,00,966) as per provisional reports till 7 am today. 

The recovery of 13,198 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,36,27,632.   

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.19%. 14,348 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours. 

The Active Caseload is presently at 1,61,334.Active cases presently constitute 0.47% of the country's total Positive Cases, which is lowest since March 2020.  

The Weekly Positivity Rate at 1.18% remains less than 2% for the last 35 days now. The Daily Positivity rate reported to be 1.12%. The daily Positivity rate has remained below 2% for last 25 days and below 3% for 60 consecutive days now.
