Indian Navy hosts 3rd edition of Goa Maritime Conclave (GMC) – 2021  

The third edition of Goa Maritime Conclave (GMC) – 2021 is being hosted by the Indian Navy from 07 to 09 November 2021 under the aegis of Naval War College, Goa.

The Theme of the 3rd edition of Goa Maritime Conclave (GMC) – 2021

The theme for this year’s edition of GMC is “Maritime Security and Emerging Non-Traditional Threats: A Case for Proactive Role for IOR Navies”, which has been derived keeping in mind the necessity of ‘winning everyday peace’ in the maritime domain.

At the GMC 2021, Indian Navy is hosting Chiefs of Navies/ Heads of Maritime Forces from 12 Indian Ocean Region countries comprising Bangladesh, Comoros, Indonesia, Madagascar, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritius, Myanmar, Seychelles, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Thailand.


President Kovind to preside 51st Conference of Governors, Lt Governors on 11 Nov 2021 

The President of India Ram Nath Kovind, will preside over the 51st Conference of Governors and Lt. Governors on November 11, 2021 at Rashtrapati Bhavan. This will be the fourth Conference to be presided over by President Kovind.

Apart from Governors and Lt. Governors of all States and Union Territories, Vice President, Prime Minister and Union Minister of Home Affairs will also attend the Conference.


Srinagar joins UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN)  

Srinagar city of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir joined the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) with a special mention for its craft and folk art.

The announcement was made by UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay through a press release describing the list of 49 cities selected " in recognition of their commitment to placing the culture and creativity at the heart of their development and to sharing knowledge and good practices".

The UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN) is a project of UNESCO launched in 2004 to promote cooperation among cities which recognized creativity as a major factor in their urban development. As of 2017, there are 180 cities from 72 countries in the network.


India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 108.47 Cr; Recovery Rate currently at 98.24%

With the administration of 23,84,096 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 108.47 Cr (1,08,47,23,042) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

The recovery of 13,204 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,37,63,104.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.24%. 11,451 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

The Active Caseload is presently at 1,42,826 is lowest in 262 days. Active cases presently constitute 0.42% of the country's total Positive Cases, which is lowest since March 2020.

The Weekly Positivity Rate at 1.26% remains less than 2% for the last 45 days now. The Daily Positivity rate reported to be 1.32%. The daily Positivity rate has remained below 2% for the last 35 days and below 3% for 70 consecutive days now.
