India, KFW sign Euro 140 million loan agreement for energy reform programme in Madhya Pradesh    

The Government of India and the German Development Bank – KFW (Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau) signed agreements for Euro 140 million reduced interest loan and Euro 2 million grant for Energy Reform Programme in Madhya Pradesh.

Rajat Kumar Mishra, Additional Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs in the Ministry of Finance, signed the agreements on behalf of Government of India and Dr. Juergen Welschof, Head of Division, Energy, South Asia signed for KFW.

DRDO successfully Flight-Test of Indigenous Aerial Target Abhyas 

DRDO successfully conducted the flight test of Indigenously developed High-speed Expendable Aerial Target (HEAT) Abhyas from Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur off the coast, Odisha.

During the flight trial, High subsonic speed trajectory at a very low altitude with high endurance was demonstrated. Two boosters provided initial acceleration during launch and a small turbo jet engine is used to sustain high subsonic speed with long endurance. The indigenous data link designed by Bengaluru based Industry partner has been successfully flown and tested during the flight.

The performance of the system during the entire flight duration has been confirmed from the data captured by various Range instruments deployed.


Nitin Gadkari inaugurates and lays foundation stone of National Highway projects in Meerut and Muzaffarnagar  

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of National Highway projects of 240 Km worth Rs.9119 crore in Meerut and Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh. Nitin Gadkari inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 6 National Highway projects in Meerut with a total cost of Rs.8,364 crore.


Indian Army launches in-House Messaging App 'ASIGMA' 

The Indian Army, today launched a contemporary messaging application named, ASIGMA (Army Secure Indi Geneous Messaging Application) which is a new generation, state of the art, web based application developed entirely in-house by a team of officers of the Corps of Signals of the Army.

The application is being deployed on the Army’s internal network as a replacement of Army Wide Area Network (AWAN) messaging application which has been in service for past 15 years. 

The application has been fielded on Army owned hardware and lends itself to lifetime support with future upgrades. The bespoke messaging application meets all futuristic user requirements and boasts of an enhanced user experience. It has a variety of contemporary features including multi-level security, message prioritisation and tracking, dynamic global address book and various options to meet the Army’s requirements.


Govt launches 7 new Internet Exchanges in Uttar Pradesh 

Government of India launched the 7 new internet exchange nodes in multiple cities of Uttar Pradesh. The inauguration of these new internet exchanges of NIXI in India will help in enhancing and improving the quality of Internet and Broadband services in Uttar Pradesh and nearby regions, as well as the internet provided by them, will bring about a transformation in the lives of the people of Uttar Pradesh. NIXI’s 7 new Internet Exchange nodes are bound to give impetus to the Internet ecosystem in the state.

The simultaneous launch of NIXI (National Internet Exchange of India) in the respected cities of Uttar Pradesh namely Agra, Lucknow, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Gorakhpur and Meerut on the 23rd of December will lead to an improved internet ecosystem of the state, it will make the internet in the state much more resilient, it will provide the users with enhanced speed along with low costs of internet delivery and will also lead to better content delivery for the users.


India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 140.31 Cr; Recovery Rate currently at 98.40%

With the administration of 57,44,652 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 140.31 Cr (1,40,31,63,063) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

The recovery of 7,051 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,42,15,977.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.40%, highest since March 2020. 6,650 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

India’s Active Caseload presently stands at 77,516. Active cases constitute 0.22% of the country's total Positive Cases, which is lowest since March 2020.

The Weekly Positivity Rate at 0.59% remains less than 1% for the last 40 days now. The Daily Positivity rate reported to be 0.57%. The daily Positivity rate has remained below 2% for the last 81 days and below 3% for 116 consecutive days now
