Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections 2022: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the completed section of Kanpur Metro Rail Project on 28th December 2021.

PM Modi to inaugurate Kanpur Metro Rail Project: Key Highlights 

This completed 9 Km long section is from IIT Kanpur to Moti Jheel. The entire length of the Metro Rail Project in Kanpur is 32 Km, and is being built at a cost of over Rs 11,000 crore.

Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate the Bina-Panki Multiproduct Pipeline Project. The 356 Km long project has a capacity of around 3.45 million metric tonne per annum. Extending from Bina refinery in Madhya Pradesh to Panki in Kanpur, the project has been built at a cost of over Rs 1500 crore. Govt issues guidelines of COVID vaccination for Children between 15 to 18 years  

Union Health Ministry on Monday issued guidelines for COVID-19 vaccination of children and precaution dose to Health Care Workers, Front Line Workers and for citizens above 60 years with comorbidities.

COVID-19 vaccination of children in the age group of 15 to 18 years will begin from 3rd of January, 2022. For these beneficiaries, the option of vaccination will be only Covaxin. All those aged 15 years or more will be able to register on CoWIN from 1st of January.

According to the guidelines, beneficiaries can self-register online through an existing account on CoWIN or can also register by creating a new account through a unique mobile number. The appointment for vaccination can be booked online or walk-in.......Read More


Vice Admiral Puneet K Bahl takes over as Commandant, Indian Naval Academy Ezhimala  

Vice Admiral Puneet K Bahl took over as the Commandant, Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala on 26 December 21.

About 

Vice Admiral Puneet K Bahl was commissioned into the Indian Navy on 01 Jul 84. An alumnus of NDA Khadakvasla, he has undertaken the Staff Course at DSSC Wellington and the Naval Higher Command Course at College of Naval Warfare, Mumbai.

An experienced Maritime Reconnaissance Pilot, Vice Admiral Puneet K Bahl has flown six different types of aircraft. His operational experience includes active participation in flying operations in Op Tasha and Op Vijay. He is also a qualified Ship’s diver. He has held a wide array of challenging operational, staff and training assignments.


Reserve Bank of India (RBI) imposes 30 lakh penalty on MUFG Bank  

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a monetary penalty of ₹30 Lakh (Rupees Thirty Lakh only) on MUFG Bank Ltd. (the bank), for non-compliance with the directions issued by RBI on “Loans and Advances – Statutory and Other Restrictions”.

Background

The Statutory Inspection for Supervisory Evaluation of the bank was conducted by RBI with reference to its financial position as on March 31, 2019, and the examination of the Risk Assessment Report, Inspection Report and all related correspondence pertaining to the same, revealed, inter alia, non-compliance with the aforesaid direction to the extent that the bank had sanctioned loans and advances to companies whose board of directors included person(s) who were director(s) on boards of other banks, without such sanctions being accorded at the level of its Management Committee.


Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu passes away at 90 

South African Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, who fought against apartheid and won the Nobel Peace Prize, has died. He was 90. He is called the Country's Moral Compass. Desmond Tutu is known as an anti-apartheid symbol in South Africa.

In 1984, Tutu won the Nobel Peace Prize for his nonviolent protest against apartheid.


PM Modi inaugurate & lay foundation stone of hydropower projects in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh  

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Mandi, Himachal Pradesh today. PM Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of hydropower projects worth over Rs 11,000 crore.

Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone of Renukaji Dam project. The 40 MW project will be built at a cost of around Rs 7000 crore. It will prove to be immensely beneficial for Delhi, which will be able to receive around 500 million cubic metre water supply per year.

Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone of the Luhri Stage 1 Hydro Power Project. The 210 MW project will be built at a cost of over Rs 1800 crore. It will lead to generation of over 750 million units of electricity per year.

Prime Minister Modi also laid the foundation stone of Dhaulasidh Hydro Power Project. This will be the first hydropower project of Hamirpur district. The 66 MW project will be built at a cost of over Rs 680 crore. It will lead to generation of over 300 million units of electricity per year.

Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the Sawra-Kuddu Hydro Power Project.


Seven-term Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Prasad passes away at 81  

Janata Dal (United) Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Prasad, popularly known as `King Mahendra`, passed away. He was 81. Mahendra Prasad was a seven-term Rajya Sabha MP from Bihar and was also elected to the Lok Sabha once.


India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 141.70 Cr; Recovery Rate currently at 98.40%

With the administration of 29,93,283 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 141.70 Cr (1,41,70,25,654) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

The recovery of 7,141 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,42,37,495.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.40%, highest since March 2020. 6,531 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

India’s Active Caseload is presently at 75,841. Active cases constitute 0.22% of the country's total Positive Cases, which is lowest since March 2020.

The Weekly Positivity Rate at 0.63% remains less than 1% for the last 43 days now. The Daily Positivity rate reported to be 0.87%. The daily Positivity rate has remained below 2% for the last 84 days and below 3% for 119 consecutive days now.
