Former Andhra Pradesh CM K. Rosaiah passes away at 89  

The senior congress party leader and former Andhra Pradesh chief minister Konijeti Rosaiah passed away in Hyderabad. He was 89. Apart from Tamil Nadu, Konijeti Rosaiah was also the Governor of Karnataka for two months.

Konijeti Rosaiah held several key portfolios including finance, transport, energy in the cabinets headed by Kotla Vijayabhaskhara Reddy, Channa Reddy and YS Rajasekhara Reddy.


PM Modi inaugurates & lays foundation stone of various projects in Dehradun     

Uttarakhand Assembly Elections 2022: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various projects worth around Rs 18,000 crore in Dehradun. 

This includes the Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor (from Eastern Peripheral Expressway Junction to Dehradun), the greenfield alignment project from Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor, connecting Halgoa, Saharanpur to Bhadrabad, Haridwar, Haridwar Ring Road Project, Dehradun - Paonta Sahib (Himachal Pradesh) road project, Najibabad-Kotdwar road widening project and a bridge across River Ganga next to the Lakshman Jhula. He also laid the foundation stone for the Child Friendly City Project, Dehradun, development of water supply, road & drainage system in Dehradun, infrastructure development works at Shri Badrinath Dham and Gangotri-Yamunotri Dham and a medical college in Haridwar.


BEE organizes National Level Painting Competition 2021 on Energy Conservation  

Ever since 2005, the Bureau of Energy Efficiency has been organizing National Level Painting Competitions on Energy Conservation for school children. This year, the theme for the competition is ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav: Energy Efficient India’ and ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav: Cleaner Planet’.

The State level painting competition will be organized from 1st to 10th December 2021 in all 36 States and Union Territories of the country, and it will culminate to a National Level Painting on 12th December 2021 at New Delhi. The winners of the National level competition will be awarded on the occasion of National Energy Conservation Day, December 14th 2021.

The objective of the activity is to promote energy conservation in young minds of the country. More than 45,000 registrations from more than 200 locations. Award prizes worth more than Rs. 9lakh awaits for the school children on National Energy Conservation Day.


FM Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurates DRI’s 64th Founding Day Celebrations 

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI), the apex anti-smuggling intelligence and investigation agency functioning under the aegis of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), celebrated its 64th Founding Day.

The celebration commenced with Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurating a function at the Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi.


India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 127.61 Cr; Recovery Rate currently at 98.35%

With the administration of 1,04,18,707 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 127.61 Cr (1,27,61,83,065) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

The recovery of 6,918 patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,40,60,774.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.35%. 8,895 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

India’s Active Caseload presently stands at 99,155. Active cases constitute 0.29% of the country's total Positive Cases, which is lowest since March 2020.

The Weekly Positivity Rate at 0.80% remains less than 1% for the last 21 days now. The Daily Positivity rate reported to be 0.73%. The daily Positivity rate has remained below 2% for the last 62 days and below 3% for 97 consecutive days now.
