1. Admiral R Hari Kumar assumes charge as 25th Chief of the Indian Naval Staff
  • Admiral R Hari Kumar, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, ADC assumed command of the Indian Navy on 30 November 2021 as the 25th Chief of the Naval Staff. He succeeds Admiral Karambir Singh, PVSM, AVSM, ADC who retires upon superannuation, after an illustrious career, spanning over forty one years, in the Indian Navy.


2. Vice Admiral MA Hampiholi assumes charge of Southern Naval Command (SNC)
  • Vice Admiral MA Hampiholi, AVSM, NM took over the reins of the Southern Naval Command (SNC) as its 29th Flag Officer Commanding- in-Chief on 30 Nov 21. The Admiral MA Hampiholi replaced Vice Admiral Anil Kumar Chawla, PVSM, AVSM, NM, VSM, ADC who retired after close to four decades of yeoman service.


3. Vice Admiral Ajendra Bahadur Singh takes over as Flag Officer Commanding-In-Chief, Western Naval Command
  • Vice Admiral Ajendra Bahadur Singh, AVSM, VSM took over as the Flag Officer Commanding–in-Chief (FOC-in-C), Western Naval Command (WNC) from Vice Admiral R Hari Kumar, PVSM, AVSM, VSM, ADC at an impressive Ceremonial Parade held at INS Shikra.


4. Lt Gen Manoj Kumar Mago takes over as 34th NDC Commandant
  • Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Mago took over as the 34th Commandant of National Defence College (NDC), New Delhi from Air Marshal D Choudhury who superannuated on November 30, 2021. 
  • Lt Gen Manoj Kumar Mago is an alumnus of Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. He was commissioned into the elite 7th Battalion Brigade of the GUARDS on December 15, 1984 and later commanded 16 GUARDS.


5. PM Modi to inaugurate InFinity Forum on 3rd December 2021
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate InFinity Forum, a thought leadership Forum on FinTech, on 3rd December, 2021 via video conferencing.
  • The event is being hosted by International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA), under the aegis of Government of India in collaboration with GIFT City and Bloomberg on December 3 and 4, 2021. Indonesia, South Africa and the U.K. are partner countries in the first edition of the Forum.


6. IREDA and BVFCL sign MoU for Green Energy collaborations
  • Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Brahmaputra Valley Fertilizer Corporation Limited (BVFCL) for providing its techno-financial expertise in developing Renewable Energy projects and fundraising. The two companies are PSUs under Ministry of New & Renewable Energy and Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers respectively.


7. Renowned Telugu film lyricist Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry passes away at 66
  • Renowned Telugu film lyricist Padma Shri awardee 'Sirivennela' Sitarama Sastry passed away due to lung cancer-related complications. He was 66.
  • Born on 20 May 1955, Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry was a poet and lyricist. He has received eleven State Nandi Awards and four Filmfare Awards for his work in the South. He has written songs for more than 3000 films.


8. India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 124.10 Cr: Recovery Rate currently at 98.36%
  • With the administration of 80,98,716vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 124.10 Cr (1,24,10,86,850) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.
  • The recovery of 10,207patients in the last 24 hours has increased the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) to 3,40,28,506.
  • Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.36%. 8,954 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
