PM Modi to interact with DMs of various districts on 22nd January  

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with DMs of various districts on 22nd January, 2022 via video conferencing.

The Prime Minister Modi will take direct feedback about the progress and present status of implementation of government schemes and programmes in the districts. The interaction will help review the performance and ascertain the challenges that are being faced.

It is aimed at achieving saturation of various schemes by various departments in the districts in mission mode, in convergence with all stakeholders.


Maharashtra govt to reopen schools for classes 1 to 12 from 24th Jan 2022 

Maharashtra Government will reopen schools for classes 1 to 12 from 24th January 2022.

Maharashtra State School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad, has announced that the state government has approved the reopening of schools for classes 1 to 12.

Schools will ensure strict adherence to SOPs. Masks to be worn at all times. Not more than one student will sit on a bench. Vaccination campaigns for older students will be intensified.


PM Modi inaugurates new Circuit House in Somnath, Gujarat 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new Circuit House in Somnath, Gujarat via video conferencing.

Background

Somnath Temple is visited by lakhs of devotees from India and abroad every year. The need for the new Circuit House was felt as the existing government facility was located far off from the temple. The new Circuit House has been built at a cost of over Rs 30 crore and is located near the Somnath Temple. 

It is equipped with top class facilities including suites, VIP and deluxe rooms, conference room, auditorium hall etc. The landscaping has been done in such a manner that sea view is available from every room.

India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 160.43 Cr; Recovery Rate currently at 93.50%

With the administration of more than 70 lakh Doses (70,49,779) vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 160.43 Cr (1,60,43,70,484) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

2,51,777 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 3,60,58,806.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 93.50%. 3,47,254 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

India’s Active Caseload is presently at 20,18,825. Active cases constitute 5.23% of the country's total Positive Cases. The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 16.56% and the Daily Positivity rate also reported to be 17.94%.
