1. India-Japan joint military exercise, EX DHARMA GUARDIAN-2022
  • A joint military exercise, “EX DHARMA GUARDIAN-2022”, between India and Japan will be conducted at Foreign Training Node, Belagavi (Belgaum, Karnataka) from 27 February 2022 to 10 March 2022.
  • Exercise DHARMA GUARDIAN-2022 is an annual training event which is being conducted in India since 2018.


2. Union Bank launches Union MSME RuPay Credit Card 
  • Union Minister for Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Narayan Rane launched the Union MSME RuPay Credit Card of Union Bank of India in Sindhudurg at the two day MSME Conclave being held in the district. 
  • The card is being offered by Union Bank of India in association with National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI).


3. Indo-Oman exercise, Eastern Bridge-VI (2022) held in Air Force Station Jodhpur
  • The Indo-Oman exercise, Eastern Bridge-VI (2022) was successfully conducted at Air Force Station Jodhpur from 21 to 25 February 2022.
  • Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) participated with Indian Air Force (lAF) in the exercise Eastern Bridge-VI which was aimed at providing operational exposure and undertaking mutual exchange of best practices, towards enhancing operational capabilities of both the Air Forces.

  • Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), the premier Telecom R&D centre of the Government of India has bagged three awards at 12th Annual Aegis Graham Bell Awards in a virtual ceremony on 25th Feb 2022 for its indigenously designed & developed innovative Telecom solutions in various categories.


5. Former Odisha CM Hemananda Biswal passes away at 82
  • Former Odisha Chief Minister and veteran Congress leader Hemananda Biswal died in Bhubaneswar. He was 82. 
  • Hemananda Biswal was CM of Odisha twice from 7th December 1989 to 5th March 1990 and again from 6th December 1999 to 5th March 2000.


6. Govt released grant of Rs 1348.10 crore to six states for urban local bodies
  • The Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance released an amount of Rs. 1348.10 crore to 6 States for providing grants to Urban Local Bodies. The States to which grants were released are Jharkhand (Rs. 112.20 crore), Karnataka (Rs. 375 crore), Kerala (Rs. 168 crore), Odisha (Rs.411 crore), Tamil Nadu (Rs.267.90 crore) and Tripura (Rs.14 crore). 


7. Ministry of Education launches Bhasha Certificate Selfie campaign
  • The Ministry of Education launched a campaign ‘Bhasha Certificate Selfie to encourage cultural diversity and promote multilingualism and to foster the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.
  • Bhasha Certificate Selfie initiative aims to promote Bhasha Sangam mobile app, developed by Ministry of Education and MyGov India.

  • Mirabai Chanu won a gold medal in the 55 kilogram category by lifting a total of 191 kilograms in the Singapore Weightlifting International.


9. Tan Kim Her appointed as India's badminton doubles coach
  • The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has approved the appointment of ace Malaysian badminton coach, Tan Kim Her, as India’s Doubles Coach till the Asian Games in 2026. The 50-year-old Tan Kim Her return to India will raise the stock of the double’s combinations in the country.


10. India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 177.17 Cr; Recovery Rate currently stands at 98.52%
  • With the administration of more than 28.29 lakh Doses (28,29,582) vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 177.17 Cr (1,77,17,68,379) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.
  • 23,598 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,22,70,482.
  • Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.52%.11,499 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
