Union Budget 2022-23 in Hindi and English: The Union Finance Minister Smt Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2022-23 in Parliament today, which is the second budget of this new decade and also a digital paperless form one in the backdrop of unprecedented COVID-19 crisis.

The Union Budget 2022-23 envisages a total outlay of Rs 39.45 lakh crore. India’s economic growth in the current year is estimated to be 9.2 per cent, highest among all large economies.

Union Budget 2022-23: In Railways, ‘One Station-One Product’ concept will be popularised to help local businesses & supply chains. Moreover, as a part of Atmanirbhar Bharat, 2,000 km of network will be brought under Kavach, the indigenous world-class technology for safety and capacity augmentation in 2022-23. Four hundred new-generation Vande Bharat Trains with better energy efficiency and passenger riding experience will be developed and manufactured and one hundred PM GatiShakti Cargo Terminals for multimodal logistics facilities will be set up during the next three years.

Introduction of Digital Rupee by the Reserve Bank of India starting 2022-23, and impose 30% tax on "virtual digital assets".

Customs duty on cut and polished diamonds and gemstones being reduced to 5 per cent; Nil customs duty to simply sawn diamond - To give a boost to the Gems and Jewellery sector

Income Tax - Union Budget 2022-23 

There was no change in the personal income tax slab in Budget 2022. Exemption from filing income tax returns for senior citizens (75 years and above) who only have pension and interest income will no longer have to fill the ITR.
