International Women's Day Week begins today   

The Ministry of Women and Child Development will celebrate the International Women’s Day week from 1st to 8th March 2022 as an ‘Iconic Week’ as a part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’.

As a part of the week-long celebration for International Women’s Day, the Ministry will organize various events and social media campaigns covering a variety of themes related to women’s safety and empowerment.

The events are being organised in partnership with national and international organisations and experts, with active participation planned with women and children, as well as personnel who work directly for their protection and empowerment.


President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurates 'Arogya Vanam' 

President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday inaugurated a hub of medicinal herbs and plants 'Arogya Vanam' at Rashtrapati Bhavan in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and First Lady Savita Kovind.

The Arogya Vanam has been developed in a 6.6 acre area and it has 215 types of medicinal plants like Neem, Tulsi, Bel, Arand, Arjun, Ashwagandha and Harsingar.


Govt invites applications for National Startup Awards 2022 

Government has invited applications for National Startup Awards 2022 across 17 sectors and 7 special categories. Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade has launched the third edition of the National Startup Awards.

The 17 sectors include Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Construction, Drinking Water, Education and Skill Development, Energy, Enterprise Technology, Environment, and FinTech.

A cash prize of 5 lakh rupees will be awarded to each winning startup.


SECI and HPCL sign MoU to realize GOI’s green energy objectives and efforts towards carbon-neutral economy 

In order to realize green energy objectives and the GOI’s efforts towards carbon-neutral economy, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) in New Delhi.

The MOU envisages cooperation and collaboration in the field of Renewable Energy, Electric Mobility, and alternative fuels including the development of ESG Projects.


Nitin Gadkari inaugurates and lays foundation stone of 46 National Highway Projects in Karnataka 

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari inaugurated and laid foundation stone of 46 National Highway Projects with investment of Rs 19,930 crore in Karnataka.

The National Highway Projects of total length 238 KM with an investment of Rs 3,972 crore will improve the inter state road connectivity from Karnataka to Maharashtra and Goa.

Inaugurating and laying the Foundation Stone of 26 National Highway Projects in Hubbali Gadkari said National Highway Projects of a total length 925 km with an investment of Rs 12,795 Crore will boost intra state connectivity by enabling seamless, safe and faster travel from villages to District HQs to Banglore. 


Chief of Royal Australian Navy Vice Admiral Michael Noonan visit to India from 25 – 28 Feb 22 

Vice Admiral Michael Noonan, Chief of Navy, Royal Australian Navy visited India from 25 – 28 Feb 22. The Admiral called on Adm R Hari Kumar, Chief of Naval Staff on 28 Feb 22 at New Delhi.

Chief of Navy, Royal Australian Navy had earlier visited Headquarters, Eastern Naval Command (HQENC) at Visakhapatnam from 25 – 28 Feb 22 to participate in Indian Navy’s biennial multilateral naval exercise MILAN 22.


ADB and Bangladesh signs USD 292 million two loan agreement 

The Government of Bangladesh signed two separate agreements with Asian Development Bank (ADB) for loans worth USD 292 million.


India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 177.70 Cr; Recovery Rate currently stands at 98.59%

With the administration of more than 18 lakh Doses (18,22,513) vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 177.70 Cr (1,77,70,25,914) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

16,864 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,23,24,550.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.59%. 6,915 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

India’s Active Caseload is presently at 92,472. Active cases constitute 0.22% of the country's total Positive Cases. The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 1.11% and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 0.77%.
