1. EPFO cuts interest rate for 2021-22 from 8.5% to 8.1% lowest in 43 years
- The Employees Provident Fund Organisation has slashed interest rate on provident fund deposits for 2021-2022 from 8.5% to 8.1%.
- This is the lowest interest rate in the last 43 years. EPFO had credited 8.0% as interest rate in 1977-78.
2. Hardeep S Puri launches ‘India Water Pitch-Pilot-Scale Start-up Challenge’
- Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) & Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri launched the ‘India WaterPitch-Pilot-Scale Start-up Challenge’ under the Ministry's Atal mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0.
3. India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 180.13 Cr; Recovery Rate currently stands at 98.71%
- With the administration of more than 20.31 lakh Doses (20,31,275) vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 180.13 Cr (1,80,13,23,547) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.
- 5,559 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,24,37,072.
- Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.71%. 3,116 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
