1. PM Modi participates in QUAD Leaders' virtual summit; Focus on developments in Indo-Pacific
  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in a virtual summit of Quad leaders, along with US President Joe Biden, Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
  • The Leaders will have an opportunity to continue their dialogue after the September 2021 Summit in Washington DC.
  • Prime Minister underlined that the Quad must remain focused on its core objective of promoting peace, stability and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region.


2. India signs Host Country Agreement with ITU for establishment of Innovation Centre at New Delhi
  • India signs Host Country Agreement with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) for establishment of Area Office & Innovation Centre at New Delhi.
  • International Telecommunication Union is the United Nations specialised agency for information and communication technologies – ICTs. ITU currently has a membership of 193 countries and over 900 private-sector entities and academic institutions.


3. 97% of adult population in the country inoculated with first dose of COVID-19 vaccine: Health Ministry
  • Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has said that 97 percent of the adult population have been inoculated with the first dose of COVID 19 vaccine.


4. RBI cancels the licence of Sarjeraodada Naik Shirala Sahakari Bank Maharashtra
  • The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), vide order has cancelled the licence of Sarjeraodada Naik Shirala Sahakari Bank Ltd, Shirala, Dist. Sangli, Maharashtra.
  • Consequently, the bank ceases to carry on banking business, with effect from the close of business on March 02, 2022.


5. Arunachal Pradesh to get a Greenfield Airport in Hollongi
  • Considering the importance of air connectivity to the capital city of Arunachal Pradesh, AAI has undertaken the work of constructing a Greenfield Airport in Hollongi, 15 Kms from Itanagar. With an estimated cost of Rs.645 crore, the project includes the development work i.e. construction of airport pavements, air side work, terminal Building and city side works.

  • The Union Minister of Ayush and Ports Shipping & Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal announced a slew of measures to boost the AYUSH sector in Mizoram.
  • The Minister, along with the Chief Minister of Mizoram, Zoramthanga, laid the foundation stones for six Ayush hospitals in Mizoram.

8. National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) sends relief material to Ukraine
  • The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has sent relief material to Ukraine. The NDRF has provided relief material including blankets, sleeping mats, and solar study lamps etc. for the people of Ukraine.  
  • The relief material was sent through a flight that left for Poland this morning and another on an Indian Air Force (IAF) flight that left for Romania on 3rd March.


9. India's second convoy of humanitarian aid was sent to Afghanistan carrying 2000 metric tons of wheat
  • The second convoy of India’s humanitarian assistance carrying 2000 MTs of wheat left Attari in Amritsar yesterday for Afghanistan's Jalalabad.


10. India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 178.29 Cr; Recovery Rate currently stands at 98.64%
  • With the administration of more than 24.84 lakh Doses (24,84,412) vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 178.29 Cr (1,78,29,13,060) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.
  • 13,450 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,23,67,070.
  • Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.64%. 6,396 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
