PM Modi to visit Germany and UAE to attend G7 Summit from 26-28 June 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Schloss Elmau, Germany at the invitation of the Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz, for the G7 Summit under the German Presidency on 26th to 27th June 2022.

In G7 Summit 2022, Prime Minister Modi is expected to speak in two sessions that include Environment, Energy, Climate, Food Security, Health, Gender Equality and Democracy.

ISRO successfully launches India's Communication satellite GSAT-24 

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully launched communication satellite GSAT-24 from Kourou in French Guiana. GSAT-24, built by ISRO for New Space India Limited (NSIL), was launched by French company Arianespace.


RBI cancels the license of Millath Co-operative Bank Ltd, Davangere, Karnataka 

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has cancelled the license of “Millath Co-operative Bank Ltd., Davangere, Karnataka”. Consequently, the bank ceases to carry on banking business, with effect from the close of business on June 18, 2022. 

The Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Karnataka has also been requested to issue an order for winding up the bank and appoint a liquidator for the bank.

The Reserve Bank cancelled the license of the bank as 

  • The bank does not have adequate capital and earning prospects.
  • The continuance of the bank is prejudicial to the interests of its depositors;
  • The bank with its present financial position would be unable to pay its present depositors in full; and
  • Public interest would be adversely affected if the bank is allowed to carry on its banking business any further.

On liquidation, every depositor would be entitled to receive deposit insurance claim amount of his/her deposits up to a monetary ceiling of ₹5,00,000/- (Rupees five lakh only) from Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (DICGC) subject to the provisions of DICGC Act, 1961.


PM Narendra Modi inaugurate Vanijya Bhawan and launch NIRYAT portal 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new premises of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry - ‘Vanijya Bhawan’ - on 23rd June 2022.

Prime Minister Modi will also launch a new portal - NIRYAT (National Import-Export Record for Yearly Analysis of Trade) - which is developed as a one stop platform for stakeholders to get all necessary information related to India’s foreign trade.


India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 196.62 Cr; Recovery Rate currently stands at 98.60%

India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 196.62 Cr (1,96,62,11,973) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 3.60 Cr (3,60,03,591) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years also started from 10th April, 2022 onwards.

India’s Active Caseload currently stands at 83,990. Active cases now constitute 0.19% of the country's total Positive Cases. 13,313 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.60%. 10,972 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,27,36,027.

The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 2.81% and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 2.03%.
