Senior IPS officer Tapan Kumar Deka was appointed Intelligence Bureau (IB) chief for a period of two years, till June 2024. Tapan Deka replaces Arvind Kumar, whose extended term ends on June 30.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved the appointment of Tapan Kumar Deka as Intelligence Bureau (IB) chief.
