India's retail inflation eases to 7.01% in June

India's retail inflation, based on the consumer price index (CPI), eased to 7.01 percent in June this year compared to 7.04 percent in the preceding month. As per the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation statement inflation eased marginally mainly due to easing prices in the "Food & Beverages" section.

In June 2022, inflation in the food basket came at 7.56 percent, compared to 7.84 percent in May this year. The inflation figure in vegetables eased to 17.37 percent during the reported month from 18.26 percent in May 2022.

2 days’ National Conference of State Agriculture & Horticulture Ministers to be held in Bengaluru

The Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India is organizing a two days’ National Conference of State Agriculture & Horticulture Ministers in Bengaluru on 14-15th July, 2022.

Technical sessions would be conducted during the conference focusing on nine thematic areas, viz. Digital Agriculture, Pradhanmantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Natural Farming, FPO, e-NAM, Pradhanmantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, National Food Security Mission, Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, New Technology by ICAR.

India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 199.12 Cr; Recovery Rate currently stands at 98.49%

India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 199.12 Cr (1,99,12,79,010) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 3.76 Cr (3,76,28,293) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years also started from 10th April, 2022 onwards.

India’s Active Caseload currently stands at 1,32,457. Active cases now constitute 0.30% of the country's total Positive Cases. 16,906 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.49%. 15,447 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,30,11,874.

The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 4.26% and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 3.68%.
