Parameswaran Iyer assumes charge as NITI Aayog CEO

Senior IAS officer Parameswaran Iyer assumed charge as NITI Aayog new chief executive officer (CEO). Parameswaran Iyer had led the implementation of the nationwide Swachh Bharat Mission.

Prior to this Parameswaran Iyer was Secretary in the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation during 2016-2020.

With over 25 years of experience in the water and sanitation sector Iyer spearheaded the implementation of India's flagship $20-billion Swachh Bharat Mission, which successfully delivered access to safe sanitation to 550 million people.

Parameswaran Iyer is a 1981 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre.
