Indo-US Joint Special Forces Exercise Vajra Prahar 2022: The 13th edition of the Indo-US Joint Special Forces exercise “Ex Vajra Prahar 2022” commenced at the Special Forces Training School (SFTS), Bakloh (HP).

The US contingent is represented by personnel from the 1st Special Forces Group (SFG) and Special Tactics Squadron (STS) of US Special Forces and the Indian Army contingent is formed by drawing Special Forces personnel under the aegis of SFTS.

Indian Army signs MoU with Drone Federation of India 

The Army Design Bureau on behalf of the Indian Army has signed a MoU with the Drone Federation of India to collaboratively work towards promoting research, development, testing and manufacturing of drones, counter-drone and associated technologies that can assist the Indian Army in its operations.

This MoU also signifies the unwavering commitment of the Indian Army in supporting our industry and the complete eco system to develop indigenous equipment and weapon systems in line with Atmanirbharta in defence manufacturing.


22nd ‘Bharat Rang Mahotsav’ at Rabindra Natya Mandir in Mumbai 

Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari inaugurated the 22nd ‘Bharat Rang Mahotsav’ at Rabindra Natya Mandir in Mumbai.

The five-day drama festival (being held from August 9 to August 13, 2022) is being jointly organised by the Union Ministry of Culture and P.L. Deshpande Maharashtra Kala Akademi in the city to pay tribute to our freedom fighters. Veteran actress Rohini Hattangadi, Producer Director Satish Kaushik and Vani Tripathi Tikku also graced the inauguration ceremony in Mumbai.

The festival is open to the public. The festival will showcase plays of renowned theatre directors based on the life and sacrifices of our freedom fighters.


HM Amit Shah e-launched onboarding of cooperatives on Government e Marketplace (GeM) 

The Union Home and Cooperation Minister, Amit Shah launched the onboarding of cooperatives on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal in New Delhi. The program is organized by the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India, the National Cooperative Union of India (NCUI) and GeM.


India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 206.88 Cr; Recovery Rate currently stands at 98.51%

India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 206.88 Cr (2,06,88,49,775) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 3.95 Cr (3,95,81,306) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years also started from 10th April, 2022 onwards.

India’s Active Caseload currently stands at 1,31,807. Active cases now constitute 0.31% of the country's total Positive Cases. 12,751 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.51%. 16,412 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,35,16,071.

The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 4.69% and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 3.50%.
