Moody’s cuts India’s GDP forecast to 7.7% from 8.8% for FY-2022
The global credit rating trade agency Moody's has slashed India's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth forecast to 7.7% from 8.8% for the fiscal year 2022.
According to the global credit rating agency Moody's latest report, India's projected growth rate is estimated to be 7.7 percent in 2022, which was 8.3 percent in 2021. It is also expected that the growth rate will be 5.2 percent from 5.4 percent in 2023.

AICTE sign agreement with Adobe to improve digital literacy in India
The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has signed an agreement with Adobe to accelerate digital creativity skills across India.
Aims
The partnership agreement between AICTE and Adobe aims to empower over 75,000 faculty in 10,000 higher education institutions over the next two years with access to Adobe Express.

UPI transactions crosses record 657 crore mark in August 2022
As per latest data released by the NPCI (National Payments Corporation of India), UPI (Unified Payments Interface) network processed 657 crore transactions in August 2022 worth about Rs 10.73 lakh crore.
Earlier, the UPI payment system crossed the milestone of 600 crore transactions in a month for the first time in June 2022.

PM Modi lays foundation stone and inaugurates various projects in Mangaluru
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of mechanization and industrialisation projects worth around Rs 3800 crores in Mangaluru.

Prime Minister Modi inaugurated the project worth over Rs 280 crore for mechanisation of Berth No. 14 for handling containers and other cargo, undertaken by the New Mangalore Port Authority.
Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone of five projects worth around Rs 1000 crore, undertaken by the Port. The integrated LPG and Bulk Liquid POL Facility, equipped with a state-of-the-art cryogenic LPG storage tank terminal, will be capable of unloading full load VLGC (very large gas carriers) of 45,000 tonnes in a highly efficient manner.
Prime Minister Modi also laid the foundation stone of projects for the construction of storage tanks and edible oil refinery, construction of bitumen storage and allied facilities and construction of bitumen & edible oil storage and allied facilities.
Prime Minister Modi also inaugurated two projects undertaken by Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited viz BS VI Upgradation Project and Sea Water Desalination Plant. The BS VI Upgradation Project, worth around Rs 1830 crores, will facilitate the production of ultra-pure environment-friendly BS-VI grade fuel (with sulphur content less than 10 PPM).
India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 212.75 Cr; Recovery Rate currently stands at 98.68%
India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 212.75 Cr (2,12,75,23,421) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.
COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 4.03 Cr (4,03,86,802) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years also started from 10th April, 2022 onwards.
India’s Active Caseload currently stands at 59,210. Active cases now constitute 0.13% of the country's total Positive Cases. 6,168 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.68%. 9,685 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,38,55,365.
The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 2.51% and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 1.94%.
