PM Modi to inaugurate ‘Centre - State Science Conclave’ on 10th Sep 2022
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Centre- State Science Conclave on the 10th September at 10:30 AM via video conferencing.
About
The two day Conclave is being organised at Science City, Ahmedabad on 10-11 September 2022. It will include sessions on different thematic areas including STI Vision 2047; Future Growth Pathways and Vision for STI in States; Health - Digital Health Care for All; Doubling Private Sector investment in R&D by 2030; Agriculture - Technological interventions for improving farmers’ income; Water - Innovation for producing potable drinking water; Energy- Clean Energy for All including S&T role in Hydrogen mission; Deep Ocean Mission and its relevance for Coastal States/UTs as well as country’s future economy.
UP govt to provide unique farm ID similar to Aadhar number to farmers
Uttar Pradesh government will provide a unique farm ID similar to Aadhar number to the farmers, which will be linked with Aadhar to provide them benefits of all government schemes. Aadhar verification will be used to implement this scheme in the coming days.
FM Nirmala Sitharaman chairs meeting on “Illegal Loan Apps”
Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman chaired a meeting to discuss the various issues related to “Illegal Loan Apps” outside the regular banking channels.
It was decided in the meeting that
- RBI will prepare a “Whitelist” of all the legal Apps and MeitY will ensure that only these “Whitelist” Apps are hosted on App Stores.
- RBI will monitor the ‘mule/rented’ accounts that may be used for money laundering and to review/cancel dormant NBFCs to avoid their misuse.
- RBI will ensure that registration of payment aggregators be completed within a timeframe and no un-registered payment aggregator be allowed to function after that.
- MCA will identify shell companies and de-register them to prevent their misuse.
- Steps should be taken to increase cyber awareness for customers, bank employees, law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders.
- All Ministries/Agencies to take all possible actions to prevent operations of such Illegal Loan Apps.
Government bans export of broken rice
The Centre Government has banned the export of broken rice with an aim to increase domestic availability. The Directorate General of Foreign Trade DGFT in a notification said, export policy of broken rice is revised from free to prohibited. The notification came into effect from today.
PM Narendra Modi inaugurates 'Kartavya Path'
The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated 'Kartavya Path' today. It symbolises a shift from erstwhile Rajpath being an icon of power, to Kartavya Path being an example of public ownership and empowerment. The Prime Minister also unveiled the statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose at India Gate on occasion.

The jet-black granite statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, measures a total of 28 ft. and is placed under the Canopy near India Gate.
The grand statue of Netaji, has been carved from a monolithic block of granite weighing 280 MT. After 26,000 man hours of intense artistic endeavor, the granite monolith was chiseled to produce a statue weighing 65 MT. The statue is completely hand sculpted using traditional techniques and modern tools. The team of sculptors for executing the statue was led by Arun Yogiraj.

Tokyo Olympic gold medallist javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has achieved yet another historic feat as he became the first Indian to win the prestigious Zurich Diamond League Final 2022 in Switzerland. Neeraj Chopra’s second throw, measuring 88.44 metre, won him the Diamond League trophy.
The Indian javelin ace followed up his first two throws with 88.00 metre in his third attempt.

India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 214.55 Cr; Recovery Rate currently stands at 98.70%
India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 214.55 Cr (2,14,55,91,100) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.
COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 4.05 Cr (4,05,72,997) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years also started from 10th April, 2022 onwards.
India’s Active Caseload currently stands at 49,636. Active cases now constitute 0.11% of the country's total Positive Cases. 6,093 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.70%. 6,768 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,39,06,972.
The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 1.88% and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 1.93%.
