Indian Army signs historic MoU with Eleven Banks for Agniveer Salary Package
The Indian Army has signed historic MoU with 11 Banks viz State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, Bank of Baroda, IDBI Bank, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Yes Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, IDFC First Bank and Bandhan Bank for providing banking facilities to Agniveers on enrollment.
The features and benefits offered under Agniveer Salary Package are similar to the Defence Salary Package.
The MoU Signed by
The MoUs were signed by Lt Gen V Sreehari, DG (MP & PS) and senior officials of Banks in a ceremony presided over by Lt Gen C Bansi Ponappa, the Adjutant General of Indian Army.

Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman participated in a joint World Bank-International Monetary Fund (WB-IMF) Development Committee (DC) meeting during the Annual Meetings 2022 in Washington DC.

PM Modi to inaugurate PM Kisan Samman Sammelan 2022 on 17 October
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the two-day event 'PM Kisan Samman Sammelan 2022' on 17th October at Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi.
Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate 600 Pradan Mantri Kisan Samruddhi Kendra (PMKSK) under the Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers. Under the scheme, the fertilizer retail shops in the country will be converted into PMKSK in a phased manner.
Prime Minister Modi will release the 12th instalment amount of Rs. 16,000 crores under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) through Direct Benefit Transfer. Under the scheme, eligible farmer families are provided a benefit of Rs. 6000 per year in three equal instalments of Rs. 2000 each. So far, eligible farmer families have received benefits of more than Rs. 2 lakh crore under PM-KISAN.
India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 219.32 Cr; Recovery Rate currently stands at 98.76%
India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 219.32 Cr (2,19,32,18,638) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.
COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 4.11 Cr (4,11,45,476) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years also started from 10th April, 2022 onwards.
India’s Active Caseload currently stands at 26,625. Active cases now constitute 0.06% of the country's total Positive Cases. 2,401 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.76%. 2,373 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,40,73,308.
The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 1.05% and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 1.04%.
