Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh inaugurates 75 BRO infrastructure projects  

Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh dedicated 75 infrastructure projects built by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO)at a function organised at D-S-DBO road in Ladakh on October 28, 2022. 

Key Highlights 

These 75 projects - 45 bridges, 27 roads, two Helipads &one Carbon Neutral Habitat– are spread across six states & two Union Territories (UTs). Twenty (20) of these projects are in Jammu & Kashmir (J&K); 18 each in Ladakh & Arunachal Pradesh; five in Uttarakhand and 14 in other border states of Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab & Rajasthan.


Singapore-India Maritime Bilateral Exercise 'SIMBEX' - 2022 to be held in Visakhapatnam 

India-Singapore Exercise SIMBEX-2022 is being conducted in two phases – Harbour Phase at Visakhapatnam from 26 to 27 October 2022 followed by the Sea Phase in Bay of Bengal from 28 to 30 October 2022

7th edition of Indo-French bilateral exercise Garuda VIl to be held in Jodhpur 

The 7th edition of Indian Air Force (IAF) and French Air and Space Force (FASF) bilateral exercise 'Garuda VIl' will be held in Air Force Station Jodhpur from 26 October to 12 November 2022.

In this exercise, FASF will participate with four Rafale fighter aircraft, one A-330 Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) aircraft and a contingent of 220 personnel. The IAF is participating with Su-30 MKI, Rafale, LCA Tejas and Jaguar fighter aircraft, as well as the Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) and Mi-17 helicopters.

The IAF contingent will also include Combat Enabling Assets like Flight Refuelling Aircraft, AWACS and AEW&C. This joint exercise will provide a platform for both the countries to enhance operational capability and interoperability, while also sharing best practices......Read More


SAIL signs Agreement with AAI to facilitate commercial operations at Rourkela Airport 

The Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) and the Airport Authority of India (AAI), signed an Operation and Management (O & M) agreement in New Delhi to facilitate commercial operations from Rourkela in the state of Odisha.


Akanksha Vyavahare creates Weightlifting National Records in 40kg category at Khelo 

Maharashtra-based weightlifter Akanksha Vyavahare has created new National Records in the 40kg weight category. The weightlifter, also a part of the Target Olympic Podium Scheme, has created the National Records in all 3 scores – Snatch, Clean and Jerk and Total.

This has been achieved on the opening day (Friday) of the Khelo India National Ranking Women’s Weightlifting Tournament Phase 2, being held in Ghaziabad, Noida.

Akanksha bettered her existing Snatch national record, by lifting 60kg. She recorded 71kg in the Clean & Jerk, and in the process, registered a total lift of 131 kg. She competed in the 40kg Youth Girls’ category.


India India’s COVID-19 Vaccination Coverage exceeds 219.62 Cr; Recovery Rate currently stands at 98.77%

India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has exceeded 219.62 Cr (2,19,62,18,338) as per provisional reports till 7 am today.

COVID-19 vaccination for the age group 12-14 years was started on 16 March, 2022. So far, more than 4.12 Cr (4,12,45,177) adolescents have been administered with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. Similarly, the COVID-19 precaution dose administration for age group 18-59 years also started from 10th April, 2022 onwards.

India’s Active Caseload currently stands at 18,802. Active cases now constitute 0.04% of the country's total Positive Cases. 1,574 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.

Consequently, India’s recovery rate stands at 98.77%. 2,161 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours and the cumulative tally of recovered patients (since the beginning of the pandemic) is now at 4,41,02,852.

The Weekly Positivity Rate in the country currently stands at 1.11% and the Daily Positivity rate is reported to be 0.95%.
