PM Modi to visit Indonesia from 14-16 Nov to attend G20 Summit in Bali  

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Indonesia from 14th to 16th November to attend the G20 Summit in Bali. The theme of this year's G20 summit is 'Recover Together, Recover Stronger'.

G20 Summit in Bali: Working sessions

Three working sessions will be held as part of the G20 Summit 2022 agenda, including Food and Energy Security, Health, and Digital Transformation.

Key Highlights 

At the closing session of the Summit, Indonesian President Joko Widodo will symbolically hand over the G20 presidency to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. India will formally assume the presidency of the G20 from the 1st of December 2022.

G20 is the premier forum for international economic cooperation representing around 85% of the global GDP, over 75% of the global trade, and about two-thirds of the world population. During the course of its G20 Presidency, India will be holding about 200 meetings in 32 different sectors in multiple locations across India. The G20 Summit to be held next year, would be one of the highest profile international gatherings to be hosted by India. 


11th Session of India-Belarus Inter-Governmental Commission held in New Delhi 

The 11th Session of the India-Belarus Inter-Governmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technological and Cultural Cooperation was held on November 10, 2022 in New Delhi.

Som Prakash, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, led the Indian delegation and Vladimir Makei, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, led the Belarusian delegation.

Key Highlights

The Intergovernmental Commission reviewed the results of bilateral cooperation that took place after the tenth session of the Commission in 2020.

The two sides agreed to promote cooperation among various states in India and regions in Belarus, especially in focus areas.


CNS Adm R Hari Kumar on an official visit to Japan from 5 to 9 Nov 2022 

Adm R Hari Kumar, Chief of the Naval Staff, made an official visit to Japan from 05 to 09 November 2022.

During the visit the CNS witnessed the International Fleet Review (IFR), hosted by the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) off Yokosuka on 06 November 2022 in commemoration of the 70th Anniversary of its formation.

Key Highlights

This year’s edition of Exercise MALABAR is also being hosted by Japan. Initiated in 1992, this year marks the 30th anniversary of Exercise MALABAR.

To mark this special occasion, Chiefs of Navies participating in Ex- MALABAR held joint consultations to review the progress achieved through this exercise thus far and areas that could be focussed upon during future iterations, with an aim to further enhance interoperability amongst the participating navies.


India hosted the 2nd BIMSTEC Agriculture Ministers meeting

India hosted the Second Agriculture Ministerial-level meeting of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) in New Delhi under the chairmanship of the Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shri Narendra Singh Tomar. Agriculture ministers of Bhutan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and Thailand participated in the meeting.
