PM Modi to embark on 3-day visit to Indonesia to attend G20 Summit in Bali 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a three-day visit to Indonesia from today, November 14, to attend the 17th G20 Summit in Bali. The theme of this year's G20 summit is 'Recover Together, Recover Stronger'.

Key Highlights

Three working sessions will be held as part of the G20 Summit 2022 agenda, including Food and Energy Security, Health, and Digital Transformation.

At the closing session of the Summit, Indonesian President Joko Widodo will symbolically hand over the G20 presidency to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. India will formally assume the presidency of the G20 from the 1st of December this year.


Army Chief General Manoj Pande on a visit to France from 14 to 17 Nov 

General Manoj Pande, the Chief of the Army Staff has proceeded on a visit to France from 14 to 17 November 2022. During the four day visit, he will be meeting his counterparts and senior military leadership of France with an aim to enhance defence cooperation between both the nations.

Key Highlights 

During the visit, the Army Chief General Manoj Pande will lay a wreath at Neuve Chapelle Indian Memorial, which commemorates the sacrifices of 4,742 Indian soldiers during the First World War. He is scheduled to call on the Chief of the Defence Staff, Chief of the Army Staff, and Commander Commandement des Forces Terrestres (CFT) / Command of the Land Combat Forces, where he will discuss avenues for enhancing India-France defence relations.


India and Finland agree to carry mutual cooperation in Science, Technology and Innovation 

India and Finland agree to carry mutual cooperation between the two countries to a new level and enhance partnership in areas such as Digital Partnership in Future ICT, Future Mobile Technologies and Digital Education.

Finland's Minister of Education and Culture, Petri Honkonen called on Union Minister of Science and Technology Dr Jitendra Singh at North Block today to seek enhanced bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the field of Science, Technology and Innovation (STI).

India and Finland agreed to carry mutual cooperation between the two countries to a new level in a number of areas of bilateral as well as global interests. Two nations decided to enhance cooperation in areas such as Digital Partnership in Future ICT, Future Mobile Technologies and Digital Education. The two countries also emphasised on having institutionalised joint working groups on areas of mutual interest.


41st edition of India International Trade Fair (IITF) at Pragati Maidan

The 41st edition of India International Trade Fair (IITF) has begun at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi which will be held from November 14 to 26. Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal inaugurates the 41st edition of India International Trade Fair (IITF) at Pragati Maidan.

The 41st edition of IITF will see the participation of nearly 2500 exhibitors from India and abroad. It is being held over a total area of 73,000 sq.mtr. This year, Bihar, Jharkhand and Maharashtra are Partner States and Uttar Pradesh and Kerala are the Focus States. Exhibitors from 29 States & Union Territories will participate in IITF. It may be noted that Leh Ladakh would be participating for the first time this year.

The 41st IITF will also see overseas exhibitors from 12 countries including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bahrain, Belarus, Iran, Nepal, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, UK. As in the past, State Day celebrations, seminars and cultural programmes are among the added attractions to the visitors.
