ISRO launches India’s maiden private Vikram-suborbital (VKS) rocket  

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) made history by launching India's maiden private Vikram-suborbital (VKS) rocket. Vikram-S is a single stage fuel rocket meant to test most systems and processes in Skyroot Aerospace’s project ahead of the launch of Vikram-1 next year.

The rocket goes to the max altitude of 81.5 kilometres and splashes into the sea and the overall duration of launch is about 300 seconds only.

No Money for Terror Ministerial Conference on Counter-Terrorism Financing held in New Delhi 

The third 'No Money for Terror' (NMFT) Ministerial Conference on Counter-Terrorism Financing in New Delhi.

No Money for Terror Ministerial Conference: Background 

The two-day conference organised on 18th-19th November will offer a unique platform for participating nations and organisations to deliberate on the effectiveness of the current international regime on Counter Terrorism Financing and the steps required to address emerging challenges. 

The conference will build on gains and learnings of the previous two conferences (held in Paris in April 2018 and in Melbourne in November 2019) and will work towards enhancing global cooperation to deny finances to terrorists and access to permissive jurisdictions to operate. It will be attended by about 450 delegates from across the world, including Ministers, Heads of Multilateral organisations and Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Heads of Delegations.

During the Conference, deliberations will be held in four sessions which will focus on ‘Global Trends in Terrorism and Terrorist Financing’, ‘Use of Formal and Informal Channels of Funds for Terrorism’, ‘Emerging Technologies and Terrorist Financing’ and ‘International Co-operation to Address Challenges in Combating Terrorist Financing’.


PM Modi to inaugurate a month-long 'Kashi Tamil Sangamam' in Varanasi today 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate a month-long event titled ‘Kashi Tamil Sangamam’ on 19th November in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.

‘Kashi Tamil Sangamam’ is being organized in Varanasi (Kashi) from 17th November to 16th December,2022 with the objective to rediscover, reaffirm and celebrate the age-old links between Tamil Nadu and Kashi – two of the country’s most important and ancient seats of learning.

RINL bags gold awards at International Convention on Quality Control Circles held in Jakarta 

Three lean quality circle (LQC) teams from RINL's Visakhapatnam steel plant bagged "Gold Awards" (the highest award) at ICQCC-2022.

The International Convention on Quality Control Circles (ICQCC-2022), organised by the Indonesia Quality Management Association (IQMA), Indonesia, was held in Jakarta, Indonesia, from November 15–18, 2022, on the theme "Building back better through quality efforts."


Carlos Del Toro, Secretary of Navy, United States Visit to India 

Carlos Del Toro, Secretary of Navy, US is on a five day official visit to India from 17 to 21 November 2022.

Interactions during the visit will include those with Adm R Hari Kumar, Chief of the Naval Staff and high ranking GoI officials in New Delhi. Mr Carlos Del Toro is scheduled to visit Indian Navy’s Southern Naval Command at Kochi, wherein he would interact with the Commander-in-Chief SNC and visit India’s first indigenous Aircraft Carrier, INS Vikrant at Cochin Shipyard.


NESTS and 1M1B Foundation signs MoU to train teachers and students of EMRSs

National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) and 1M1B Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to train teachers and students of Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs).

The program will capacitate the teachers & students with Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) skills using the AR-VR skills curriculum launched by CBSE. The programme objectives include conduct of training and capacity-building programs for teachers and students of Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs). In pilot phase, as part of MoU programmes being implemented in EMRSs of 2 states, namely Rajasthan and Uttarakhand.
