President Droupadi Murmu appoints 10 additional judges in Punjab and Haryana High Court 

President Droupadi Murmu appointed 10 additional judges to the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Background

Vide notifications dated 01.11.2022, in exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 224 of the Constitution of India, the President Droupadi Murmu, after consultation with the Chief Justice of India UU Lalit is pleased to appoint following Advocate/ Judicial Officers as Additional Judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court :-

2. Gurbir Singh. Judicial Officer
3. Deepak Gupta, Judicial Officer

Royal Bhutan Army Chief Operations Officer Lt Gen Batoo Tshering official visit to India 

Lt Gen Batoo Tshering, Chief Operations Officer, Royal Bhutan Army is currently on a visit to India from 28 October to 02 November 2022.

Key Highlights 

Lt Gen Batoo Tshering called on Gen Manoj Pande, the Chief of Army Staff and exchanged views on the current global situation, security perspectives in addition to discussing measures for enhancing defence cooperation between both armies.

The Chief of the Royal Bhutan Army visit will further enhance and strengthen the already existing friendship and cooperation between the Indian Armed Forces and the Royal Bhutan Army.


India signs MoU with FIFA and AIFF for implementing Football4Schools initiative in India 

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, on behalf of the Ministry of Education signed an MoU in Mumbai with FIFA and All India Football Federation for the ‘Football4Schools’ initiative in India.

RBI imposes ₹30.00 lakh penalty on Jammu and Kashmir State Co-operative Bank 

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a monetary penalty of ₹30.00 lakh (Rupees Thirty Lakh only) on The Jammu and Kashmir State Co-operative Bank Limited, Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir (the bank) for non-compliance with RBI directions on ‘Income Recognition, Assets Classification, Provisioning and Other Related Matters’.


RBI imposes ₹4 lakh penalty on Nagar Sahakari Bank 

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a monetary penalty of ₹4.00 lakh (Rupees Four Lakh only) on Nagar Sahakari Bank Ltd., Maharajganj, UP (the bank) for non-compliance with directions issued under Supervisory Action Framework (SAF) by RBI.


President Droupadi Murmu to visit Nagaland, Mizoram and Sikkim from november 2 to 5

The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, will visit Nagaland, Mizoram and Sikkim from November 2 to 5, 2022.

On November 2, 2022, the President Droupadi Murmu will attend the civic reception to be hosted in her honour by the Government of Nagaland in Kohima. On that occasion, she will also inaugurate/lay the foundation stone for various projects related to education and infrastructure in the state.

On November 3, 2022, the President Droupadi Murmu will pay her respects at the Kohima War Cemetery and visit Kigwema village where she will interact with the Village Council Members and the members of SHGs. On the same day, she will grace the 17th convocation of the Mizoram University at Aizawl and inaugurate various education related projects in the state of Mizoram. In the evening, she will also attend the civic reception to be hosted by the Government of Mizoram in her honour at the Raj Bhavan, Aizawl.

On November 4, 2022, the President Droupadi Murmu will address the members of the Mizoram Legislative Assembly at Aizawl. On the same day, she will attend a civic reception to be hosted by the Government of Sikkim in her honour and inaugurate/lay the foundation stones for the various projects of Central and State governments.

On November 5, 2022, the President Droupadi Murmu will interact with women achievers and members of SHGs at Tathagatha Tsal, Ravongla before returning to Delhi.
