Indo-Kazakhstan Joint Military Exercise KAZIND 2022 to be held in Umroi from 12-28 Dec    

The 6th edition of Indo - Kazakhstan joint military exercise “KAZIND-22” is scheduled to be conducted at Umroi (Meghalaya) from 15 to 28 December 2022. Joint annual training exercise with the Kazakhstan Army was instituted in 2016 as Exercise Prabal Dostyk, which was later upgraded to a company level exercise and renamed as Ex Kazind in 2018.

Exercise KAZIND will enhance the level of defence cooperation between Indian Army and Kazakhstan Army which will further foster the bilateral relations between the two nations.

Lok Sabha passes Constitution (ST) Order (Second Amendment) Bill, 2022 

The Lok Sabha today passed the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Second Amendment) Bill, 2022. The Bill will amend the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order, 1950, with respect to its application to Tamil Nadu.

The Order lists the tribal communities deemed to be Scheduled Tribes in states and union territories. The bill includes Narikoravan and Kurivikkaran communities in the list of Scheduled Tribes in Tamil Nadu.


India hosts 1st G20 Finance and Central Bank Deputies (FCBD) meeting in Bengaluru 

The First G20 Finance and Central Bank Deputies Meeting, under the Indian Presidency, was held in Bengaluru, Karnataka, during December 13-14, 2022, under the co-chairship of Secretary, Economic Affairs Ajay Seth and Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of India, Dr. Michael Patra.

Key Highlights 

The meeting saw an enthusiastic gathering of over 160 foreign delegates including Deputies from G20 member countries, invitee countries, and International Organisations. This marks the beginning of the G20 Finance Track under the Indian Presidency.

The meeting was conducted with the aim of seeking the views of G20 members on India’s G20 Finance Track priorities for 2023 across various workstreams. A side event on ‘Strengthening MDBs to Address Shared Global Challenges of the 21st century’ was held on the sidelines of the Deputies meeting.


India receives all 36 Rafale aircraft from France 

India has received all 36 Rafale aircraft from France, with the last aircraft landing in the country today.

India and France had signed the inter-government agreement in 2016, under which Paris agreed to provide 36 Rafale fighter jets at a cost of around 60,000 crore rupees to India.


IICA signs MoU with DSNLU to collaborate for offering Courses, Research and Publications

The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), Manesar established by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), Government of India and Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University (DSNLU), Visakhapatnam signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for offering Courses, Research and Publications.

Background

The MOU is signed between IICA and DSNLU for the purpose of academic collaboration that will encompass offer and award of degree, diploma and certificate courses of contemporary importance; exchange members of faculty and students; research and publication; other academic activities; offer of expert advice and consultancy; and conduct joint workshops, seminars and conferences. In addition to this, active efforts will be made to develop joint training and research programs that will be pursued in a collaborative spirit. 

The MOU will foster advancement in offering Post Graduate Courses such as LL.M, jointly organizing awareness and outreach programmes for the benefit and welfare of humanity.
