India, ADB sign USD 125 million loan MoU to improve Urban Services in Tamil Nadu  

The Government of India and Asian Development Bank (ADB) signed a $125 million loan to develop climate-resilient sewage collection and treatment, and drainage and water supply systems in three cities in the state of Tamil Nadu.

The MoU Signed by  

The signatories to the tranche 3 loan for Tamil Nadu Urban Flagship Investment Program were Rajat Kumar Mishra, Additional Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs in the Ministry of Finance who signed for the Government of India, and Hoe Yun Jeong, Officer-in-Charge of ADB’s India Resident Mission who signed for ADB.

The financing is the third and the last tranche of the $500 million multi-tranche financing facility (MFF) for the Program approved by ADB in 2018 to build priority water supply, sewerage, and drainage infrastructure in strategic industrial corridors across 10 cities in the state. India's will become third largest economy by 2035: British consultancy firm CEBR 

As per the Centre for Economics and Business Research (CEBR), a British consultancy, India's will become the third largest economy by 2035 from the current fifth spot.

In its annual World Economic League Table, the Centre for Economics and Business Research said that over the next five years, India's annual rate of GDP growth is expected to average 6.4 percent after which growth is expected to average 6.5 percent in the subsequent nine years.


President Droupadi Murmu inaugurates Development of Srisailam Temple in Andhra Pradesh 

President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the project “Development of Srisailam Temple in the State of Andhra Pradesh” at Srisailam Temple Complex, Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh.

The project has been sanctioned and executed under PRASHAD scheme viz. National Mission on Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Heritage Augmentation Drive of the Ministry of Tourism.

Background 

The project “Development of Srisailam Temple in the state of Andhra Pradesh” has been completed with a cost of Rs. 43.08 crores. The project is 100% funded by the Ministry of Tourism of Government of India. 

The components executed in the project include interventions like Amphitheatre, Illuminations and Sound and Light Show, Digital Interventions, Tourist Amenity Center , Parking area, Changing rooms, Toilet Complexes, Souvenir Shops, Food court, ATM & Banking Facility. These interventions aimed at making Srisailam Temple a world class pilgrimage and tourist destinations by providing state-of-the-art facilities for visitors.


NTPC and Tecnimont sign MOU to explore possibility to develop Green Methanol Production 

NTPC, India's largest power generation company, has signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Tecnimont Private Limited, Indian Subsidiary of Maire Tecnimont Group, Italy.

Objective 

The objective of the MOU is to jointly evaluate and explore the possibility to develop commercial scale Green Methanol Production facility at NTPC project in India.

Key Highlights

The Green Methanol Project involves capturing carbon from NTPC power plants and converting it into a green fuel. Green Methanol has a wide range of applications, including serving as a base material for the chemical industry, storing renewable electricity, and even as a transportation fuel. It is also considered as a substitute fuel for maritime fuel applications.

While Lovlina Borgohain beat Arundhati Choudhary of Services 5-0 in the 75kg final, Nikhat Zareen defeated Anamika of Railways 4-1 in the final of the 50kg category.
