Govt approves PLI scheme for drones and drone components
The government has approved the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for drones and drone components for implementation during 2022-23 to 2024-25 with an outlay of 120 crore rupees. The scheme is being implemented by the Ministry of Civil Aviation.
As per the Ministry the objective of this scheme is to incentivize the manufacturing of drones and drone components in the country with a focus to make the indigenous' industries globally competitive.
Delhi Metro signs train procurement contract for upcoming Phase 4 corridor
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) took a major step towards operationalizing its Phase 4 corridors for passenger operations by signing the contract for procuring 312 Metro coaches (52 trains) for Phase 4’s priority corridors, i.e., Majlis Park to Maujpur, Janakpuri West to R K Ashram Marg and Tughlakabad to Delhi Aerocity.
Indian Navy Ships Shivalik and Kamorta visit Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Indian Naval Ships, Shivalik and Kamorta which are forward deployed in the South China Sea are in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The ships would be undertaking numerous professional interactions with the Vietnam People's Navy during the visit.
The visit is part of the bilateral defence cooperation activities to further enhance the robust ties between the two navies as also to mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Vietnam. Earlier this year, two Indian Naval Ships, Sahyadri and Kadmatt had also visited Ho Chi Minh City.
World Bank approves $250 million to Bangladesh for environment management
The World Bank approved USD 250 million financing to help Bangladesh strengthen environment management and promote private sector participation in green investment.
Key Highlights
The project will help construct four vehicle inspection centres using private-public partnership modality to inspect about 46,000 vehicles annually. An E-waste management facility will be set up to process 3,500 metric tons of e-waste annually. The project will help reduce over 1 million metric tons of Green House Gas emissions from targeted sources.
RBI imposes ₹42 lakh penalty on Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a monetary penalty of ₹42.00 lakh (Rupees Forty-two lakh only) on Arunachal Pradesh Rural Bank for non-compliance with the directions issued by RBI on ‘Strengthening of Prudential Norms- Provisioning Asset Classification and Exposure Limit’ and ‘Regional Rural Banks- Income Recognition, Asset Classification and Provisioning Norms- Non-Performing Assets (NPAs)’.
World's first intra-nasal vaccine for COVID approved for use in emergency situations
