India, Germany sign Migration and Mobility Agreement 

External Affairs Minister Dr. S Jaishankar and his German counterpart Annalena Baerbock signed a Migration and Mobility Agreement which will facilitate easier access for people to study, research and work in both countries.

NHAI, Maha Metro achieve Guinness Book of World Records 

The National Highways Authority of India and Maha Metro have achieved the Guinness Book of World Records by constructing the longest double-decker viaduct with highway flyover and metro rail supported on a single column in Nagpur.

The project has already bagged records from Asia Book and India Book.


RBI imposes ₹5 lakh penalty on The Bharat Co-operative Bank 

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a monetary penalty of ₹5.00 lakh (Rupees Five lakh only) on The Bharat Co-operative Bank Limited, Bengaluru, Karnataka for non-adherence / violation of directions issued under Exposure Norms and Statutory / Other Restrictions – Urban Co-operative Banks (UCBs).

Background

The inspection reports of the bank based on its financial position as on March 31, 2020 and March 31, 2021, revealed, inter alia, that the bank’s investment in commercial paper breached the prudential individual exposure limit of 15% of capital funds. Based on the same, a Notice was issued to the bank advising it to show cause as to why penalty should not be imposed for non-compliance with the directions.


11th edition of Admiral's Cup Regatta to held in Kerala from 6th to 10th Dec 2022 

The 11th edition of the Admiral's Cup Regatta will be held at the Ettikulam Bay in the Kannur district in Kerala.

The 5th edition of European Union-India Competition Week was inaugurated today at the Competition Commission of India (CCI) HQ in New Delhi. The Competition Week is scheduled to be held during 5-7 December 2022.


Delhi govt bans BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel four-wheelers till Dec 9 

Delhi government has imposed a ban on plying of BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel four-wheelers in the city till 9th December 2022 in view of restrictions put by the Centre's air quality panel under Stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan.

Vehicles deployed in emergency services and government or election work have been exempted. As per the order if any BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel four-wheeler are found plying on the roads, it will attract a fine of 20 thousand rupees.

The Co-Chairperson of Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Ms. Melinda French Gates held a meeting with the Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar, in New Delhi.
