Indo-Egypt Joint Training Exercise Cyclone-I begins in Rajasthan 

The first ever joint exercise between the special forces of the Indian Army and the Egyptian Army named 'Exercise Cyclone-I' is in progress at Jaisalmer in Rajasthan since 14 January 2023.

Exercise 'Cyclone - I' is the first exercise of its kind bringing the special forces of both the nations on a common platform.

First G20 Health Working Group meeting held in Thiruvananthapuram 

As part of India G20 presidency first Health Working Group meeting held at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

During the three-day G20 India first Health Working Group meeting delegates discussed health priorities like Health emergencies prevention and preparedness, strengthening cooperation in pharmaceutical sector and digital health innovation & solutions. 

The delegates also participated in a morning yoga session held on day 2 and visited the Somatheeram Ayurveda Village at Kovalam, Kerala to understand holistic healthcare service delivery system.

First Health Working Group meeting 2023: Participate by G20 member countries 

Representatives from the G20 member countries including Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Republic of Korea, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkiye, The United Kingdom, United States of America and European Union attended the event. PM Modi to attend All India Conference of DGs, IGs of Police on 21-22 Jan 2023 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the All India Conference of Director Generals, Inspector Generals of Police 2022 at the National Agricultural Science Complex, PUSA, New Delhi on 21-22 January, 2023.

All India Conference of DGs/ IGs of Police 2023: Key Highlights  

The three day Conference, being held from January 20 to 22, 2023, will be held in hybrid format. About 100 invitees including DGP of States/UTs and Heads of Central Armed Police Forces and Central Police Organizations will attend the Conference physically, while the remaining invitees will participate virtually from across the country.

The conference will discuss a wide range of issues including Cyber Crime, Technology in Policing, Counter Terrrorism challenges, Left Wing Extremism, capacity building, Prison Reforms, among others. 

The conference is the culmination of extensive deliberations involving police & intelligence officers from district, state and national levels on identified themes. Best practices from States/ UTs under each of the themes will be presented at the Conference so that States can learn from each other.

President Droupadi Murmu appoints Justice Sabina as Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court: In exercise of the power conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India, the President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu is pleased to appoint Smt. Justice Sabina, senior-most Judge of the Himachal Pradesh High Court to perform the duties of the office of the Chief Justice of that High Court with effect from 21.01.2023 consequent upon the retirement of Justice Amjad Ahtesham Sayed, Chief Justice, Himachal Pradesh High Court.


IREDA signs MoU with MNRE, setting annual performance target for the year 2022-23 

Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India, setting an annual performance target for the year 2022-23.

The Government of India has set a target ₹ 3,361 crores for Revenue from Operation, up by approx. 18% from the previous year achievement. The Government of India has also set various performance-related key parameters such as Return on Net Worth, Return on Capital Employed, NPA to Total Loans, Asset Turnover Ratio and Earning per share, etc.


EPFO adds 16.26 lakh members in the month of November, 2022 

The provisional payroll data of Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) released, highlights that EPFO has added 16.26 lakh net members in the month of November, 2022. The data indicates an increase of 25.67% net additions compared to the previous month in October, 2022.

Year-on-year comparison of payroll data reflects an increase of 16.50% in net membership addition in November 2022 as compared to the corresponding month during last year in 2021.

Of the total 16.26 lakh members added during the month, around 8.99 lakh new members have come under the ambit of EPFO for the first time thus, showing that new members joining EPFO has increased by 1.71 lakh, from 7.28 lakh in October 2022.

Gender-wise analysis 

Gender-wise analysis of payroll data indicates that enrolment of net female members has been 3.19 lakh in November, 2022. As compared to previous month, net female member addition has increased by around 0.56 lakh from 2.63 lakh in October 2022.

State-wise analysis 

State-wise payroll figures highlight that month-on-month growing trend in net member addition is reflected in the states of Gujarat, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra & Rajasthan.
