4th edition of India-Japan joint military exercise DHARMA GUARDIAN 2023 held from 17 Feb to 2 Mar
The 4th edition of joint military exercise, "EX DHARMA GUARDIAN", between India and Japan is being conducted at Camp Imazu in Shiga province, Japan from 17 February to 02 March 2023.
The scope of this exercise covers platoon level joint training on operations in jungle and semi urban/urban terrain.
Exercise Dharma Guardian” will further enhance the level of defence co-operation between Indian Army and Japanese Ground Self Defence Forces, furthering the bilateral relations between the two nations.

Troops of the Garhwal Rifles Regiment of the Indian Army and an Infantry Regiment from the Middle Army of the Japan Ground Self Defence Force (JGSDF) are participating in the exercise DHARMA GUARDIAN 2023.

The joint exercise will enable the two armies to share best practices in tactics, techniques and procedures of conducting tactical operations under a UN Mandate, in addition to developing interoperability, bonhomie, camaraderie and friendship between the two armies.....Read More
PM Modi inaugurates Aadi Mahotsav in Delhi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Aadi Mahotsav, the mega National Tribal Festival at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in Delhi.
Aadi Mahotsav is an attempt to showcase tribal culture on the national stage and it celebrates the spirit of tribal culture, crafts, cuisine, commerce and traditional art. It is an annual initiative of the Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation Limited (TRIFED) under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

The Aadi Mahotsav, which celebrates the spirit of tribal culture, crafts, cuisine, commerce and traditional art, is an annual initiative of the Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation Limited (TRIFED) under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. It is being organised from 16 to 27 February at Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in Delhi.
The programme will showcase the rich and diverse heritage of tribes from across the country in over 200 stalls at the venue. Around 1000 tribal artisans will participate in the Mahotsav. Since 2023 is being celebrated as the International Year of Millets, along with usual attractions like handicrafts, handloom, pottery, jewellery etc. A special focus in the Mahotsav will be on showcasing Shree Anna grown by tribals.

India's retail inflation rises to three-month high level of 6.52 %
Retail inflation, based on the consumer price index (CPI), rose to 6.52 percent in January from December's one-year low of 5.72 percent.
As per the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation data released, the retail inflation for January stood at a three-month high level.
Indian Railways launches Rail Post Gati Shakti Express Cargo Service
Indian Railways and India Posts have formally launched Rail Post Gati Shakti Express Cargo Service, Joint Parcel Product of Railways and India Post.
It is an initiative of partnership between Indian Railways and India Posts in providing seamless logistics for the services sector in the country. This is in compliance with the Budget Announcement of FY 2022-23.
It has been started on the four sectors -Delhi to Kolkata; Bangalore to Guwahati, Surat to Muzaffarpur and Hyderabad to Hazrat Nizamuddin. However, a total of 15 sectors have been planned to be covered in the first phase.
David Malpass to step down from World Bank chief
World Bank chief David Malpass announced that he would step down from the post before his five-year term expires. Malpass was appointed to the role in 2019 and previously served as Under Secretary of the Treasury for international affairs in US Administration.
Chetan Sharma resigns as BCCI Chief Selector
Indian cricket team chief selector Chetan Sharma has resigned from his post. According to a report, Chetan Sharma sent his resignation to the BCCI Secretary Jay Shah and it was accepted.
Recently, Chetan Sharma came in controversies due to a sting operation, after which he has resigned from his post.
Chetan Sharma was appointed as the chief selector for the second consecutive term last month. He heads the five-member selection committee.
