Indian music composer Ricky Kej creates history by winning third Grammy Award
Indian music composer Ricky Kej has won his third Grammy Award at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards for his globally acclaimed album, Divine Tides with Rock-legend Stewart Copeland. After winning his third Grammy, Ricky Kej has created history in India by becoming the only Indian to win 3 Grammy Awards.

RBI imposes ₹15 lakh penalty on The Utkal Cooperative Bank
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a monetary penalty of ₹15.00 lakh (Rupees Fifteen lakh only) on The Utkal Cooperative Bank Ltd. Bhubaneswar, Odisha for contravention of/ non-compliance with the directions issued by Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on (i) Exposure Norms and Statutory/Other Restrictions-Urban Co-operative Banks (UCBs) and (ii) specific directions issued under Supervisory Action Framework (SAF).
Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare signs MOU for developing a National Interactive Digital Platform to strengthen extension system
The Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in New Delhi with Digital Green under public private partnership framework to build a national level digital extension platform.
The platform will host a digital library of curated multi-format multi-lingual content, help extension workers access and deliver curated content to farmers on time and upskill the vast network of extension workers for agriculture, horticulture, fisheries, livestock and rural livelihood missions through certified online courses.
PM Modi inaugurates India Energy Week 2023 in Bengaluru
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the India Energy Week (IEW) 2023 in Bengaluru. PM Modi launched the uniforms under the ‘Unbottled’ initiative of Indian Oil. These uniforms are made of recycled PET bottles. He also dedicated the twin-cooktop model of the IndianOil’s Indoor Solar Cooking System and flagged off its commercial roll-out.
PM Modi also launched E20 fuel at 84 retail outlets of Oil Marketing Companies in 11 States/UTs along the lines of the ethanol blending roadmap. He also flagged off the Green Mobility Rally where vehicles running on green energy sources will participate and help create public awareness for green fuels.

India Energy Week is being organised from the 6th to the 8th of February and aims to showcase India's rising prowess as an energy transition powerhouse. The event will bring together leaders from the traditional and non-traditional energy industry, governments, and academia to discuss the challenges and opportunities that a responsible energy transition presents. It will see the presence of more than 30 Ministers from across the world. Over 30,000 delegates, 1,000 exhibitors and 500 speakers will gather to discuss the challenges and opportunities of India's energy future.
Now Order Online Food by Whatsapp: Indian Railways starts new service
Indian Railways has recently started WhatsApp communication for the railway passengers to order food through e-catering services. Business WhatsApp number +91-8750001323 has been started for the purpose.
Key Highlights
Initially, two stages implementation of e-catering services was planned through WhatsApp Communication. In the first phase, Business WhatsApp number will be sending a message to the customer booking e-ticket for opting for e-catering services through clicking the link www.ecatering.irctc.co.in.
With this option, the customers will be able to book meals of their choice from the restaurants of their choice available at stations enroute directly through the e-catering website of IRCTC without even requiring to download the App.
In the next phase of the services, WhatsApp number will be enabled to become an interactive two way communication platform for the customer wherein an AI power chatbot will handle all queries of e-catering services for the passengers and will also book meals for them.
To begin with, WhatsApp communication has been implemented for e-catering services on selected trains and passengers and based on customer feedback and suggestions, Railways will enable the same on other trains too.
Today, approximately 50000 meals are being served in a day to the customers through IRCTC’s e-catering services enabled through its website as well as app.
Railways earns Rs 135387 Crores from Freight loading in FY-2022-23
Indian Railways' Freight loading for the first ten months of this financial year 2022-23 crossed last year’s loading and earnings for the same period.
On a cumulative basis from April - January 23, freight loading of 1243.46 MT was achieved against last year’s loading of 1159.08 MT, an improvement of 7%. Railways have earned Rs 135387 crore against Rs 117212 crore over last year which is an improvement of 16% as compared to the same period of last year.
During the month of January 23, Originating freight loading of 134.07 MT has been achieved against loading of 129.12 MT on January 22, which is an improvement of 4 % over last year. Freight revenue of Rs. 14907 crore have been achieved against Rs 13172 crore freight earnings in January 22, thereby an improvement of 13% over last year.
63 passengers add in "No Fly List" in last one year
In last 1 year, a total of 63 passengers have been placed in "No Fly List" for such period, as recommended by the airline's Internal Committee, constituted in accordance with Civil Aviation Requirements (CAR), Section 3- Air Transport, Series M, and Part VI titled "Handling of unruly / disruptive passengers". These include 02 (two) incidents of urinating that have come to the notice of Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in the last 01 year.
As per the provision mentioned in CAR, a 'No Fly List' is maintained by DGCA containing specific information related to the passenger involved, contact details of identification documents, date of occurrence, sector, flight number, period of imposition of ban etc. The majority of passengers placed in "No Fly List" were for violation related to not wearing a mask or not obeying the instructions of crew members.
CISF deployed at 66 airports for providing security
Presently, CISF is deployed at 66 airports for providing security. At remaining airports, security is provided by State Police. Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), the Civil Aviation Security Regulator in India, after reviewing risk and threat assessments carried out by Central Security Agencies, issues Aviation Security circulars/orders for effective implementation of security controls at all Indian airports for the purpose of safeguarding civil aviation activities/operations from an act of unlawful interference.
