NDPP leader Neiphiu Rio takes oath as Chief Minister of Nagaland for fifth term 

NDPP leader Neiphiu Rio took oath as the Chief Minister of Nagaland for the fifth term, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Rio was administered the oath of office by the Governor of Nagaland La. Ganesan, at the Capital Cultural Hall in Kohima .

T R Zeliang of NDPP and Y Patton of BJP took oath as the Deputy Chief Ministers of the state. This is the first time that the state of Nagaland is having two Deputy Chief Ministers. Other ministers also took oath in the ceremony.


Manik Saha takes oath as Tripura Chief Minister 

Manik Saha took oath for the second time as Tripura Chief Minister after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) clinched a victory in state assembly polls. Eight other ministers were sworn in today.

Key Highlights  

Saha who was administered the oath of office by Governor Satyadeo Narayan Arya in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a grand ceremony in Swami Vivekananda Ground in Agartala took oath as CM for the second consecutive time.

Nine MLAs were sworn-in as Ministers in the cabinet of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha which includes, Ratanlal Nath, Pranajit Singh Roy, Shantana Chakma, Sushanta Choudhary, Sudhanshu Das, Tinku Rai, Bikas Debbarma and alliance partner IPFT's MLA Shuklacharan Noatia.


Australian PM Anthony Albanese on 4-day visit to India 

Prime Minister of Australia Anthony Albanese reached Ahmedabad. Albanese is also scheduled to visit Mumbai and Delhi during his four-day visit to India.

Along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Australian Prime Minister will hold the Annual Summit to discuss areas of cooperation under the India-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, besides regional and global issues of mutual interest.


French Navy Ships FS Dixmude visit to Kochi 

French Navy Ships FS Dixmude,an amphibious helicopter carrier and La Fayette, frigate are on a visit to Kochi from 06 - 10 March 2023 as part of circumnavigation mission, Jeanne d'Arc.

During the ongoing visit, the French team visited professional training schools and ships of Southern Naval Command. Cross training visits, professional and social interaction including sports fixtures were some of the highlights of the visit. The French Army embarked onboard ships will also conduct joint military exercises with the Indian Army.

Indo French Naval cooperation is a key element of strengthening regional maritime security and stability in the Indo Pacific region. The visit of the French ships significantly contributed towards strong bilateral defence ties and strategic partnerships between the two nations.

Delhi Metro dedicates a wall to signify women empowerment 

Delhi Metro dedicates a wall to signify women empowerment, mural work by women artists inaugurated at Dwarka Sector-14 Metro Station.

As part of various activities being undertaken by DMRC as part of its International Women’s Day celebrations, which falls on 8th March every year, the Delhi Metro in collaboration with Vedica Foundation, a non-profit organization working towards empowerment of urban women, has curated a mural on the theme ‘Delhi-NCR as a city of women’ at Dwarka Sector-14 Metro station.


Hardeep Singh Puri launches Swachhotsav under Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 2.0 

On the occasion of World Women's Day. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has launched Swachhotsav, 3-week women-led swachhata campaign, under the Swachh Bharat Mission Urban 2.0. The campaign aims to recognize and celebrate the transition from women in sanitation to women-led sanitation.


BSE & UN Women India launches a new programme FinEMPOWER

Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and UN Women India launched a new programme, 'FinEMPOWER', at the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). It is a year-long joint capacity-building programme between BSE and UN Women to empower women towards financial security.
