India's overall exports register growth of 13.84 percent in 2022-23 

The country’s overall exports are projected to scale new heights in the financial year 2022-23 registering a growth of 13.84 percent over the financial year 2021-22.

It is estimated to achieve 770.18 US billion dollars worth of exports in the last financial year despite the global headwinds and steady domestic demand. India's overall export was over 676 US billion dollars in the fiscal year 2021-22.


RBI cancels Certificate of Registration of two NBFC  

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has cancelled the Certificate of Registration of the following companies.
  1. BRD Securities Ltd (Kerala)
  2. Lakshmi Finance Private Limited (Vishakhapatnam)


President Droupadi Murmu appoints Mridul Kumar Kalita, as Additional Judge of Gauhati HC  

President Draupadi Murmu after consultation with Chief Justice of India Justice DY Chandrachud has appointed Mridul Kumar Kalita as an additional judge of the Gauhati High Court for a period of two years with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office.


India retains top spot in international flight safety standards 

India’s International Aviation Safety Assessment rating will continue to remain in Category One as the country meets the international standards for aviation safety oversight. India received category one status after the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of the United States conducted an audit of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in the areas covering aircraft operations, airworthiness, and personnel licensing.


Multinational Air Force Exercise Orion to be held in France from 17 April - 5 May 2023 

The Multinational Air Force Exercise Orion will be held in Mont-de-Marsan, an Air Force base of the French Air and Space Force (FASF). The exercise will be conducted from 17 April to 05 May 2023.
 

Indian Air Force to participate in Multilateral Exercise Orion 2023 

An Indian Air Force (IAF) contingent will be departing today for France, to participate in Exercise Orion at Mont-de-Marsan, an Air Force base of the French Air and Space Force (FASF).

Key Highlights

Besides the IAF and the FASF, Air Forces from Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, United Kingdom, Spain and United States of America would also be flying in this multilateral exercise. Participation in this exercise would further enrich the employment philosophy of the India Air Force, by imbibing the best practices from other Air Forces.


Ministry of Tourism to organise SCO Millets Food Festival from 13th -19th April 2023 in Mumbai 

Ministry of Tourism, Government of India will organise the 4th and last event SCO Millets Food Festival from 13th -19th April 2023 in Mumbai at Taj Mahal Palace.

The SCO member countries ( Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan Uzbekistan and Russia) and will attend the 9 day event and showcase their various cuisines and offer to the guest at the hotel.

Taj Mahal Palace will be hosting the SCO Millet Food Festival to commemorate the International Year of Millets (IYM 2023). This festival will feature a selection of organic meals made with millets that have been hand-selected by our SCO Member Chefs. From 14th to 19th of April the festival will be open to public for lunch and dinner at Shamiana Restaurant, Taj Mahal palace Hotel, Mumbai.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is an Intergovernmental Organization comprising eight Member States China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, four Observer States and fourteen “Dialogue Partners”


Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami launches 'A HELP' program

The Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Pushkar Singh Dhami launched ‘A-HELP’ (Accredited Agent for Health and Extension of Livestock Production) programme in the State of Uttarakhand.

Under this program trained A-HELPs will give their vital contribution in preventing various infectious diseases of animals, artificial insemination under Rashtriya Gokul Mission (RGM), tagging of animals and animal insurance.


Atal Tinkering Labs Linked with Krishi Vigyan Kendra & Agricultural Technology Management Agency 

Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog, and the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoA&FW) have come together to promote innovation in the agricultural sector among school students across India.

Key Highlights

The two government bodies have agreed to connect Atal Tinkering Labs (ATLs) with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVKs) and Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMAs) under the initiative. 

KVKs function as a "Single Window Agricultural Knowledge Resource and Capacity Development Centre," and this collaboration will provide numerous stakeholders with necessary information, training, and inputs. KVKs, in partnership with ATMA, will collaborate with nearby ATLs to support agricultural-related innovation.


PM Modi to visit Assam to inaugurate & lay foundation stones of various projects 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Assam today to inaugurate and lay foundation stones of various development projects in the State. He will also attend the mega Bihu celebration in Guwahati where over 11,000 dancers will participate.

PM Modi will inaugurate the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) Guwahati and he will also virtually inaugurate the medical colleges of Nalbari, Kokrajhar and Nagaon districts. 

PM Modi will also inaugurate 500 TPD methanol plant of Assam Petro-Chemicals Limited at Namrup virtually from Guwahati. He will lay the foundation stone for the Palashbari-Suwalkuchi bridge over the Brahmaputra near Guwahati and a Super Speciality hospital at IIT Guwahati. He will also lay the foundation for beautification project of Rang Ghar at Sivasagar district virtually.


MOC approves Avinash Sable’s proposal to train in Switzerland to prepare for World Athletics Championships 

Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) Mission Olympic Cell (MOC) has approved Commonwealth Game Silver medallist Avinash Sable’s proposal to train in St. Moritz, Switzerland to prepare for the World Athletics Championships that are set to take place in August this year.

Expenditure for Sable’s Switzerland training camp will be covered under MYAS’s Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) and cover Avinash and his coach’s Airfare, Visa Fees, Local Transport costs, Boarding & Lodging fees, and Out of Pocket Allowance (OPA) amongst other expenses.

Sable, along with his coach Scott Simons are scheduled to train at St. Moritz from 7th August 2023 till 16th August 2023 (10 days), before heading out to Budapest, Hungary for the World Championships.


Asian Wrestling Championship 2023: Indian women wrestlers bags 7 medals

Indian women wrestlers bagged 7 medals includes -two silver and five bronze in the Asian Wrestling Championship at Astana in Kazakhstan and finish 3rd in Women's Teams Ranking.
