LIC appoints Ratnakar Patnaik as new Chief Investment Officer  

Ratnakar Patnaik appointed as new Chief Investment Officer of LICLife Insurance Corporation (LIC) has announced the appointment of Ratnakar Patnaik as the new Chief Investment Officer. He replaced PR Mishra, who had been transferred and posted to another post.

India's economic growth projected to decelerate to 6% in 2023 from 6.6% in 2022: UNCTAD report  

According to the latest Trade and Development Report Update released by the United Nations Trade and Development Conference (UNCTAD), India's economic growth is projected to decelerate to 6 per cent in 2023 from 6.6 per cent in 2022.

The UN Trade and Development Conference (UNCTAD) in its latest Trade and Development Report Update released also predicts a decline in global growth in 2023 to 2.1% from the previously projected 2.2% in September 2022.


HDFC Bank signs $300 million credit line agreement with Export Import Bank of Korea

The leading private sector bank in India, HDFC Bank has signed USD 300 million a Master Inter Bank Credit Agreement with the Export-Import Bank of Korea. This agreement will help HDFC Bank raise foreign currency funds which it would extend to Korea-related businesses.


Retail inflation drops to 5.66% in March from 6.44% in Feb 

India's retail inflation based on consumer price index (CPI) eased to a 15-month low of 5.66% in March compared to 6.44% in February.

According to the National Statistical Office data, India’s annual retail inflation in the food basket was 4.79 per cent in March, as against 5.95 per cent in February.

The Union Home Ministry has approved the conduct of the Constable (General Duty) examination for Central Armed Police Forces in 13 regional languages in addition to Hindi and English.

In addition to Hindi and English, now the question paper will be set in Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Odia, Urdu, Punjabi, Manipuri and Konkani.


India’s first 3D-printed post office to come up in Bengaluru 

According to recent news reports, a 3D-printed post office is being built in Bengaluru, India, which will be the first of its kind in the country. Residents of Cambridge Layout are reportedly pleased with this development.

The cost of constructing this post office is estimated to be 30 to 40 percent lower than that of a traditional building, and it is expected to be completed within 30 days. Built by Larsen & Toubro, the 1,100 sq ft post office structure is being 3D-printed in 45 days for Rs 23 lakh.


Army Commanders’ Conference to be held from 17th April 2023 

Army Commanders’ Conference (ACC) is an apex-level biannual event which is an institutional platform for conceptual level deliberations, culminating in making important policy decisions for the Indian Army. The first ACC for the year 2023 is scheduled from 17 to 21 April 2023.

For the first time, the ACC is being conducted in Hybrid format exploiting available technology for secure communication, wherein Army Commanders and other senior functionaries will meet virtually on the first day and then travel to Delhi for balance physical meetings on matters which require detailed deliberations.
