Rajneesh Karnatak appointed as BOI MD, Debadatta Chand to head BOB  

The Government of India has appointed Rajneesh Karnatak as the Managing Director of Bank of India (BOI) while Debadatta Chand as the head of Bank of Baroda (BOB).

Rajneesh Karnatak replaces Atanu Kumar Das who completed his three year term.

The central government appoints Karnatak, Executive Director, Union Bank of India, as managing director and CEO of Bank of India for three years.

Debadatta Chand, currently the Executive Director of Bank of Baroda, has been appointed as the Managing Director of the same bank for a period of three years.


Imperial College London announces scholarships worth £ 400,000 for Indian students 

Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology Dr Jitendra Singh visited the Imperial College London in the United Kingdom and interacted with the Indian students of the college.

On the occasion the College Management announced scholarships of £ 400,000 for the Indian students studying in the college out of which 50% of the scholarship would be given to the female students from India.

Rishikesh Ganga Anti-Plastic Expo inaugurate with focus on plastic alternatives & waste management 

The Rishikesh Ganga Anti-Plastic Expo organized by the Centre for Global Affairs & Public Policy (CGAPP) inaugurated in Parmarth Niketan Ashram.

The 2-day expo will feature start-ups and solution providers working on plastic alternatives, river cleaning & rejuvenation and waste management. 

It also includes an exhibition of solution providers/Startups working on plastic waste issues on the banks of the Ganga at Parmarth Niketan Ashram, which will continue till 30 April. Indian and foreign start-ups and civil society organizations such as Waste Warriors, Switcheko, Uttarakhand Pollution Control Board, River Recycle, Recykal, Amwoodo, Plastic Fischer, Code Efforts and Nirmalya are part of the exhibition.


Golden Globe Race: Indian Sailor Abhilash Tomy finishes second spot

Indian Sailor Abhilash Tomy finishes second in the Prestigious Golden Globe race 2023. The adventurous event is a solo around-the-world sailing race, which started on September 4, 2022 from Les Sables-d'Olonne in France. The sail is solo, non-stop around the world, via the five Great Capes and concluded at the same place- Les Sables-d’Olonne.

Competitors sailed in production boats between 32ft and 36ft overall (9.75 – 10.97m) designed prior to 1988 that have a full-length keel with rudder attached to their trailing edge.

Kirsten Neuschäfer won the race and has become the first woman to win the Golden Globe Race.
