ISRO successfully conducts Reusable Launch Vehicle Autonomous Landing Mission 

The Indian Space Research Organisation ISRO has successfully carried out the Reusable Launch Vehicle Autonomous Landing Mission in Karnataka. A Chinook Helicopter of the Indian Air Force carried the launch vehicle to a height of 4.5 kms and released it in mid-air.

Based on 10 parameters like velocity, altitude and approach, the Reusable Launch Vehicle performed the landing manoeuvres at 350 kilometres per hour speed, using the integrated navigation, guidance and control system and completed autonomous landing on the air stripThis has successfully achieved the autonomous precise landing of the Space vehicle.


VAdm Sanjay Jasjit Singh assumes charge as Vice Chief of Naval Staff 

Vice Admiral Sanjay Jasjit Singh, AVSM, NM assumed the appointment of the Vice Chief of the Indian Naval Staff. Prior to taking over as the Vice Chief of Naval Staff, VAdm Sanjay J Singh was Deputy Chief of Integrated Defence Staff (Operations).

Vice Admiral Sanjay Jasjit Singh is a graduate of the National Defence Academy, Pune, and was commissioned in 1986 in the Executive Branch of the Indian Navy.

VAdm Suraj Berry assumes charge as Chief of Personnel of Indian Navy

Vice Admiral Suraj Berry, AVSM, NM, VSM assumed charge as Chief of Personnel of the Indian Navy. Flag Officer Berry was commissioned in the Indian Navy on 01 January 1987 and is a specialist in Gunnery and Missile Warfare.

The Admiral holds a graduate diploma with distinction in International Security Studies from the Naval Staff Course at US Naval War College, Rhode Island, a Master Degree in Weapon Technology and second Master Degree in Defence and Strategic Studies. He is also recipient of the Best All Round Officer and First in Order of Merit trophies during his specialisation training.


Former Indian Cricketer, Salim Durani passes away at 88 

Former India all-rounder Salim Durani passed away in Jamnagar, Gujarat. He was 88. Durani played 29 Test matches for India from 1960 to 1973 and took 75 wickets and scored 1202 runs.

Second G20 Employment Working Group meeting begins in Guwahati 

The Second Employment Working Group (EWG) Meeting under India’s G20 Presidency will be held in Guwahati, Assam from April 03 to 05, 2023.

Key Highlights  

The three-day event will see a gathering of over 72 delegates from over 19 G20 member countries, 7 guest countries and 5 International Organisations.

The EWG has a mandate of addressing priority labour, employment and social issues for strong, sustainable, balanced, and job-rich growth for all. Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoLE), Government of India is the nodal ministry for Employment Working Group under the Indian presidency of G20.


Second G20 Energy Transition Working Group meeting begins in Gandhinagar 

The 2nd Energy Transitions Working Group (ETWG) meeting under India's G20 Presidency commenced in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

Participate by  

More than 100 delegates from G20 member countries, special invitee countries, and International Organizations, including International Energy Agency (IEA), United Nations Economic and Social Commission for the Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), European Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), and International Solar Alliance (ISA), are taking part in the meeting to engage in discussions and deliberations on priority areas.


Army Chief Gen Manoj Pande on a four-day visit to Australia 

General Manoj Pande, the Chief of the Army Staff will leave for a four-day tour of Australia from 03 April 2023. General Pande will be meeting the senior military leadership of Australia with an aim of enhancing India’s defence cooperation between the Armed Forces of the two nations.


PM Modi to inaugurate Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of CBI 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on 3rd April (today) at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

PM Modi will also inaugurate newly constructed office complexes of CBI at Shillong, Pune and Nagpur. He will release a Postage Stamp and Commemorative Coin marking the Diamond Jubilee Celebration year of CBI. He will also launch the Twitter handle of CBI.
