Joint Military Exercise 'Ex KAVACH' 2023   

Andaman and Nicobar Command (ANC) conducted a large-scale Joint Military Exercise ‘Ex KAVACH’ involving the assets of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Coast Guard. The exercise, which began on February 23, 2023, concluded on April 07, 2023.

Exercise KAVACH' 2023: Aims 

The exercise was aimed at fine-tuning joint warfare capabilities & Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and enhancing interoperability and operational synergy between the forces. Elements of the ‘Shatrujeet Brigade’ of the Army, Armed Forces Special Operations Division (AFSOD), Special Forces of the Navy and Amphibious troops of the ANC, participated in the multi-domain exercise involving amphibious landing, air-landed operations, heliborne operations and rapid insertion of the Special Forces from mainland on a remote Island of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.


Ukraine's Deputy Foreign Minister Emine Dzhaparova on a 4-day visit to India 

The first Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Ms. Emine Dzhaparova will be on a four-day visit to India today.

During the visit, Ms. Dzhaparova will hold talks with Sanjay Verma, Secretary (West) in the Ministry of External Affairs. Both sides are expected to discuss bilateral relations.


FM Nirmala Sitharaman embark on an official visit to USA 

Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman will be embarking on an official visit to the USA, beginning April 10, 2023

During the visit, Smt. Sitharaman will be attending the 2023 Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), along with G20 meetings, Investor/ Bilateral meetings, and other associated meetings, are scheduled to take place from April 10 to April 16, 2023, in the WBG and IMF Headquarters in Washington DC.

The Spring Meetings will be attended by Finance Ministers and Central Bankers from across the world.


RBI imposes ₹10.50 lakh penalty on Muthoot Money Limited 

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has imposed a monetary penalty of ₹10.50 lakh (Rupees Ten lakh fifty thousand only) on Muthoot Money Limited, Ernakulam, Kerala for non-compliance with certain provisions of the ‘Monitoring of Frauds in NBFCs (Reserve Bank) Directions, 2016’.


Bangladesh receives 450 MW from Godda plant of Adani power 

Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) received 450 MW of electricity from the Godda plant of Adani Power.

Adani power and BPDB completed the work of the transmission line before the test run. The Power Grid Company of Bangladesh (PGCB) constructed 134 kilometres of transmission line from the Chapainawabganj border to Bogra substation for receiving electricity from Godda plant of Adani power.


PM Modi lays foundation stone various projects in Chennai 

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone and dedicated to the nation various projects at Alstrom Cricket Ground in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. PM Modi inaugurated the New Integrated Terminal Building (Phase- 1) of Chennai International Airport and flagged off the Chennai-Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express in Chennai.

Background

The Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of road projects worth about Rs 3700 crores. The Prime Minister inaugurated the 7.3 km long Elevated Corridor in Madurai City and the 24.4 km long four-lane road of National Highway 785. 

The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for the construction of road projects of National Highway-744. The project worth more than Rs. 2400 Crore will boost inter-state connectivity between Tamil Nadu and Kerala and ensure a convenient journey for pilgrims visiting Meenakshi Temple in Madurai, Andal Temple in Srivilliputhur and Sabarimala in Kerala.

The Prime Minister also inaugurated the 37-kilometer gauge conversion section between Thiruthuraipoondi and Agasthiyampalli, which has been completed at a cost of Rs 294 Crores. This will benefit the movement of edible and industrial salt from Agasthiyampalli in Nagapattinam district.

PM Modi also flagged off the Express service between Tambaram and Sengottai. He also flagged off a Diesel Electric Multiple Unit (DEMU) service from Thiruthuraipoondi - Agasthiyampalli, which will benefit commuters from Coimbatore, Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam districts.


PM Modi flags off Chennai-Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express train in Chennai 

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the Chennai-Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express at MGR Chennai Central Railway Station in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Upon arriving at the venue, the Prime Minister inspected the Chennai-Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express and also interacted with children as well as with the train’s crew.


PM Modi flags off Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express train in Hyderabad 

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express at Secunderabad Railway Station in Hyderabad, Telangana today. Upon arriving at the venue, the Prime Minister inspected the Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express and also interacted with children as well as with the train’s crew.

Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express connecting IT City, Hyderabad with the Abode of Lord Venkateswara, Tirupati, is the second Vande Bharat train to be started from Telangana within a short span of three months. The train will reduce the travel time between the two cities by almost three and a half hours and will be particularly beneficial for pilgrims.


PM lays foundation stone various projects in Hyderabad, Telangana 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone and dedicated to the nation various projects worth over Rs. 11,300 crores at Parade Ground in Hyderabad, Telangana.

The projects include laying the foundation stone of AIIMS Bibinagar, Hyderabad, five National Highway projects and the redevelopment of Secunderabad Railway Station. PM Modi also dedicated other development projects related to railways. Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister also flagged off the Secunderabad-Tirupati Vande Bharat Express at Secunderabad Railway Station in Hyderabad.


HM Amit Shah to launch 'Vibrant Villages Programme' in Kibithoo, Arunachal Pradesh

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah will visit Arunachal Pradesh on April 10-11, 2023. Home Minister Shah will launch the ‘Vibrant Villages Programme’ in Kibithoo, a border village in Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh on April 10, 2023.

Amit Shah will inaugurate nine Micro Hydel Projects of Arunachal Pradesh government constructed under the “Golden Jubilee Border Illumination Programme” in Kibithoo, on April 10, 2023. These electricity projects will empower people living in border villages. He will also inaugurate Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) projects to augment infrastructure at Likabali (Arunachal Pradesh), Chapra (Bihar), Nooranad (Kerala) and Vishakapatnam (Andhra Pradesh).
