ISRO to launch GSLV-F12 Navigation satellite on 29 May 2023

The Indian Space Research Organisation, (ISRO) will launch GSLV-F12 Navigation satellite on 29th May 2023 from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.

Key Highlights

It is the flight mission carrying the next generation NavIC satellite that will replace the IRNSS-1G satellite launched in 2016.

NavIC is a constellation of seven satellites offering the standard position service for civilian users and restricted service for strategic users. Three satellites of the constellation are placed in the geostationary orbit and four satellites in the inclined geosynchronous orbit.

PM Modi flag off Dehradun to Delhi Vande Bharat Express train

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the inaugural run of Vande Bharat Express from Dehradun to Delhi on 25th May 2023 (today) via video conferencing.

This will be the first Vande Bharat to be introduced in Uttarakhand. The train has been indigenously and is equipped with advanced safety features including the Kavach technology.

PM Modi to inaugurate 3rd edition of Khelo India University Games on 25th May

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will declare open Khelo India University Games 2022 on 25th May 2023 (today) via video conferencing. The mascot of the Games is named Jitu, which represents Swamp Deer (Barasingha) - the state animal of Uttar Pradesh.

Khelo India University Games: Background

This year, the third edition of Khelo India University Games will be held from 25th May to 3rd June in Uttar Pradesh. These competitions will be organised in Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Lucknow and Gautam Buddha Nagar.

The Games will witness participation of over 4750 athletes from more than 200 Universities, who will be competing in 21 sports. The closing ceremony of the Games will be held in Varanasi on 3rd June 2023.
