VAdm Gurcharan Singh assumes charge as Controller Personnel Services

Vice Admiral Gurcharan Singh assumed charge as the Controller Personnel Services (CPS) on 15 January 2024. Gurcharan, an alumnus of the National Defence Academy (Khadakwasla), was commissioned into the Indian Navy on 01 July 1990.

Gurcharan Singh is a graduate of Defence Services Staff College (Wellington), Naval War College (Goa) and National Defence College (New Delhi).

The Flag Officer has held a number of appointments both ashore and ashore. VAdm Gurcharan Singh has served on Indian Naval ships Ranjit, Prahar and Brahmaputra as a Gunnery and Missiles specialist.

Vice Admiral Gurcharan Singh: Educational Life

Vice Admiral Gurcharan Singh's educational qualifications include MSc and MPhil (Defence and Strategic Studies). He has attended the Maritime Intelligence Course at the National Intelligence University (NIU), Washington, apart from Staff, Higher Command and NDC courses in India. Gurcharan Singh has completed the United Nations Staff Officers Course (UNSOC) in Stockholm, Sweden.
