Rear Adm Nelson D’Souza takes over as Commandant, MILIT Pune

Rear Admiral Nelson D'Souza has been appointed as the Commandant of the Military Institute of Technology (MILIT), Pune. D'Souza replaces Air Vice Marshal Vivek Bloria for MILIT Commandant.

Rear Adm Nelson D’Souza takes over as Commandant, Military Institute of Technology

Rear Admiral Nelson D’Souza has taken over as Commandant of Military Institute of Technology (MILIT), Pune Maharashtra. D'Souza replaces Air Vice Marshal Vivek Bloria.

Rear Admiral D'Souza is an accomplished alumnus of the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington and the Naval War College, Goa. D'Souza has served in various key appointments in the Indian Navy since his commissioning in March 1991.

Rear Adm Nelson D’Souza: Roles and Responsibilities 

Roles and Responsibilities: Rear Admiral D'Souza will focus on further strengthening MILIT’s academic programmes and give a push to ongoing efforts at Jointness & Integration in training among tri-services and enhancing collaboration with the industry and academia in the field of Niche Technologies.

Aims

Under the leadership of Rear Adm Nelson D’Souza, MILIT aims to continue nurturing highly skilled techno-warriors officers who would chart the course of armed forces in India into a future-ready force.

Military Institute of Technology (MILIT)

Military Institute of Technology (MILIT), Pune is one of India’s premier tri-services technical training institutes which trains mid-level officers of tri-services including those from friendly foreign countries. It conducts Defence Services Technical Staff Course (DSTSC) for Indian Army, Indian Air Force and Indian Navy officers.

After successful completion of the course, officers are awarded the degree of M.Sc in Military Technology from the University of Pune. Most of the officers attending this course are of the rank of Major or Lieutenant Colonel or equivalent.
