1. Hardeep S Puri Chairs Meeting Via Video Conference on Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS-Udan)
  • Minister of State (I/C) for Civil Aviation, Housing & Urban Affairs Hardeep Singh Puri, chaired a meeting via Video Conference on Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS-UDAN) with Chief Ministers, State Chief Secretaries/Advisors of Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Daman & Diu.
  • The North Eastern States & UTs were the first in the series of the Video Conference (VC) planned for Periodic review of RCS-UDAN scheme.

2. Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh reviews functioning of IMAC and IFC-IOR
  • Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh today visited the Information Management and Analysis Centre (IMAC) and Information Fusion Centre – Indian Ocean Region (IFC-IOR) located at Gurugram. He reviewed the functioning of IMAC and IFC-IOR.
  • Senior Navy officials, including the Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Karambir Singh, briefed him on further enhancing the capabilities of the two centres under the National Maritime Domain Awareness (NMDA) Project.
  • The NMDA project was launched in accordance with the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on SAGAR (Security And Growth for All in the Region).

3. India-Maldives MoU on Training and Capacity Building Programme for Maldivian Civil Servants operationalised
  • The India-Maldives MoU on Training and Capacity Building Programme for Maldivian Civil Servants was operationalised following discussions between the senior officials of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), the National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG) and the Maldives Civil Service Commission today in a ceremony held at the Civil Services Commission of Maldives at Male.
  • An Indian delegation led by V Srinivas, Additional Secretary Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances held discussions with a Maldivian team led by Aly Shameem, the Chairman of the Civil Services Commission.

4. 4th Advance Estimates of production of major crops for 2018-19
  • The 4th Advance Estimates of production of major crops for 2018-19 have been released by the Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare on 19th August, 2019.
  • As per the Fourth Advance Estimates for 2018-19, total foodgrain production in the country is estimated at 284.95 million tonnes which is nearly steady compared with 285.01 million tonnes of production for 2017-18, while it is higher by 19.20 million tonnes than the previous five years' (2013-14 to 2017-18) average production of foodgrain.
