Made in India: HM Amit Shah flags off Delhi-Katra Vande Bharat Express

Made in India Delhi-Katra 'Vande Bharat' Express: Union Minister for Home Affairs, Amit Shah flagged off the New Delhi-Katra 'Vande Bharat' Express, in New Delhi.

This is the second ‘Vande Bharat’ express after the New Delhi - Varanasi semi-high speed train flagged off by Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi in February this year.

The coaches of this train are indigenously manufactured at the Chennai Rail coach factory. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted.

Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina on four day official visit to India

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in New Delhi on a four day visit to India on Thursday.

This is the first visit of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina after assuming office for the third consecutive term. Sheikh Hasina will come to India to join the summit of World Economic Forum (WEF).

During her visit, she will hold a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and meet President Ram Nath Kovind on October 5 during her visit.

The two countries are likely to sign 10-12 MoUs and agreements during the visit.

Indian Naval Ship Tarkash visit to St Denis, Reunion Island, France

As part of Indian Navy's Overseas Deployment to Africa, Europe and Russia, Indian Naval Ship Tarkash arrived at St Denis, Reunion Island, France today, on 03 Oct 19 for a three day visit.

The ship is part of the Indian Navy's Western Fleet and under the Operational Command of Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Western Naval Command, based at Mumbai.

The Indian France Navies have recently engaged in one of the most complex and major Maritime Exercise 'VARUNA 2019' in the Indian Ocean, involving the participation of Carrier Task Groups from both sides and conduct of full-spectrum Naval operations.


Indo Maldives Joint Military Exercise Ekuverin - 2019 at Aundh Military Station, Pune from 07 to 20 Oct 2019

Tenth edition of the Joint Military Exercise Ekuverin between the Indian Army and the Maldives National Defence Force will be organised from 07 to 20 October 2019 at Aundh Military Station in Pune, Maharashtra.

The Indian Army and the Maldives National Defence Forces have been conducting Exercise Ekuverin meaning ‘Friends’ in the Dhivehi language since 2009.

The 14 days Joint Exercise held alternatively in India and Maldives focuses on enhancing interoperability between the two forces for carrying out counter insurgency and counter-terrorism operations in a semi-urban environment under the United Nations mandate.
The focus of the exercise will be on sharing of best practices and acquainting each other with the operating procedures being followed while undertaking counter insurgency and counter-terrorism operations.

President Ram Nath Kovind Presented Vayoshreshtha Samman - 2019

President Ram Nath Kovind presented the Vayoshreshtha Samman - 2019 on the eminent senior citizens and institutions in New Delhi at a function organized by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.

Vayoshreshtha Samman is a Scheme of awards instituted by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and gradually upgraded to the status of National Awards, for institutions involved in rendering distinguished service for the cause of elderly persons especially indigent senior citizens and to eminent citizens in recognition of their service/achievements.

These awards are presented as part of the celebration of the International Day of Older Persons (IDOP) which is celebrated every year on 1st October.



14th edition of Indo-Mongolian Joint Exercise Nomadic Elephant 2019

14th edition of Indo – Mongolian joint military training, Exercise Nomadic Elephant-XIV, being conducted over a period of 14 days, will commence from 05 Oct 2019.

 The exercise will be conducted from 05 Oct 19 to 18 Oct 19 at Bakloh.

The Mongolian Army is being represented by officers and troops of the elite 084 Airborne Special Task Battalion while Indian Army is being represented by a contingent of a battalion of RAJPUTANA RIFLES.

Nomadic Elephant-XIV is aimed at training troops in counter insurgency &counter terrorism operations under United Nations mandate.

The Joint Exercise will enhance defence co-operation and military relations between the two nations. It is an ideal platform for the armies of both the nations to share their experiences & best practices and gain mutually during the joint training.

India Kazakhstan Joint Military Exercise KAZIND -2019 begins on 3 to 15 October 2019


The aim of exercise is joint training of troops in Counter Insurgency/ Counter Terrorism operations in both Jungle and Mountainous terrain.

 Exercise KAZIND 2019 can be termed as a facade of long standing strategic ties between India and Kazakhstan.

As part of exercise, important lectures, demonstrations and drills related to counter insurgency and counter terrorism operations will be conducted.
