1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi Inaugurates Swachh Bharat Diwas 2019

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the Swachh Bharat Diwas 2019 in Ahmedabad on 2nd October 2019.
He released postage stamp and silver coin to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
He also distributed the Swachh Bharat Puraskar to the winners. Earlier in the day, he paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at Sabarmati Ashram. He visited the Magan Niwas (Charkha Gallery) and interacted with the children there.

2. World Women's Boxing Championship 2019 begins in Russia

The 11th edition of AIBA World Women's Boxing Championship 2019 will begin at Ulan Ude in Russia today.
The event will be held across 10 weight categories, though only five of them are Olympic classes.
Six-time gold medallist and one-time silver-medallist MC Mary Kom is the most successful boxer in the history of Women’s World Championships.

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal released the ‘Stations’ Cleanliness Survey Report’ (Cleanliness assessment of Non-suburban and Suburban Stations 2019).
According to the Railway Survey, the top three cleanest railways stations are from the western state of Rajasthan.
Jaipur was on the first position, Jodhpur on second followed by Durgapura in third position.

Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju flagged off 'Fit India Plog run at Indira Gandhi stadium in New Delhi to mark 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
Fit India Plog Run organised by Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in New Delhi.
Plogging is a concept brings together fitness and cleanliness as participants pick up plastic and other waste from the road while jogging.

5. Digital Exhibition on Mahatma Gandhi titled "Digital Gandhi Gyan-Vigyan" inaugurated

The 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi , the Secretary, Department of Science & Technology, Prof. Ashutosh Sharma inaugurated an exhibition titled “Digital Gandhi Gyan Vigyan Exhibition”.
The exhibition has been organised in collaboration with a technology start-up under incubation by IIT, namely, M/s Vizara Technologies Pvt. Ltd, Delhi.

6. Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh Unveils Statue of Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th Birth Anniversary

Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh unveiled a statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Delhi Cantonment and paid rich tribute to the Father of the Nation as a rare person who wielded so much influence over people without occupying formal positions of power.
The statue of Mahatma Gandhi was erected by the Directorate of Defence Estates on his 150th birth anniversary celebrations at Sri Nagesh Garden in Delhi Cantt. Raksha Mantri also paid tributes to Former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri who shares a birthday with Mahatma Gandhi.
