Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh to participate in SCO meeting and bilateral engagements in Uzbekistan


Raksha Mantri Rajnath Singh will represent India in the meeting of Council of Heads of Government (CHG) of SCO at Tashkent on November 2, 2019. The leaders participating in the meeting are expected to focus their discussions on the multilateral economic cooperation in the SCO region.

India is actively engaged in various SCO cooperation dialogue mechanisms and further developing multilateral cooperation within the SCO framework.

This will be the third CHG meeting after India became a member of SCO. The last two CHG meetings were held between November 30- December 1, 2017 at Sochi in Russia and October 11-12, 2018 at Dushanbe in Tajikistan.......Read More

German Chancellor Angela Merkel on two day official visit to India

German Chancellor Angela Merkel arrived in New Delhi: Angela Merkel is on a two-day official visit to India for the Fifth Biennial Inter Governmental Consultations during which India and Germany will discuss the deepening of cooperation in traditional sectors and explore possibilities for cooperation in newer areas like green urban mobility, AI.

 German Chancellor Merkel is accompanied by officials of 15 ministries and a high-power business delegation.
 Ms Merkel was received at the airport by MoS Prime Minister's Office Jitendra Singh. 

German Chancellor Angela Merkel arrived in Delhi beginning her State visit to India during which she, along with PM Narendra Modi will co-chair the 5th-IGC (Inter Governmental Consultations).

MNRE Hosts 2nd Assembly of International Solar Alliance (ISA) in New Delhi

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) is hosting the second Assembly of International Solar Alliance (ISA) on 30 and 31 October 2019 New Delhi. While on 30 October 2019, coordination and consultation meetings on different aspects of ISA programmes and initiatives will be held, the Assembly would meet on 31 October 2019.

The Assembly is the supreme decision making body of the ISA, and gives directions on various administrative, financial and programme related issues. R.K. Singh, Minister for New and Renewable Energy and Power is President of the ISA Assembly and Ms Brune Poirson, Minister of State for the Ecological and Inclusive Transition Govt. of France, is the Co-President of the Assembly.


As on date 81 countries of the 121 prospective member countries have signed the Framework Agreement of the ISA. Of these, 58 countries have ratified the same. The Assembly will be attended by the Ministers and delegates from member States, Observer States, ISA Partners, and other invitees. Over 400 delegates are expected to participate in the Assembly.

1st Assembly of International Solar Alliance (ISA)

The first Assembly of the ISA was attended by 78 countries, and they had affirmed their determination to accelerate the deployment of solar energy worldwide for achieving universal energy access at affordable rates.Recognizing that ISA has a major role in achieving Sustainable Development Goals, and objectives of the Paris Agreement on Climate Change, and that the ISA initiative would benefit the world at large, during the first Assembly of the ISA an Indian resolution to extend the Membership of the organisation to all countries that are Members of the United Nations was adopted.........Read More



Bamboo Technology Parks to be set up in the two new UTs of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh

Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region took a review meeting with officials of the Ministry and the North Eastern Council (NEC) in New Delhi, during which he announced that Bamboo Technology Parks would be set up in the two new Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.

The Cane and Bamboo Technology Centre (CBTC) under NEC will implement the project. Dr. Jitendra Singh also reviewed progress of preparation of the upcoming event “Destination North East” scheduled to be held at Varanasi from 23rd to 26th November, 2019.

He also reviewed the progress of the projects for setting up two hostels and a convention centre for the students and people of the North Eastern Region at Jawaharlal Nehru University, Rohini and Dwarka in Delhi.



HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ inaugurates mega "KVS-Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Parv"

Union Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ inaugurated the four day mega cultural and literary youth extravaganza “KVS- Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Parv” to celebrate nation’s Unity in Diversity and to reconnect and preserve the widespread emotional bonds among the people of the country at India Gate, Lawn No. 6.

This year 2375 participants have come together to be a part of this mega event. The unique feature of this event is that the students of one part of the nation exhibit the cultural diversity of the other part of the country and the world.

On the first Day of the mega parv “ShobhaYatra” a cultural march-past was showcased by participants to objectify the vision behind this great celebration. Being first time since the inception of KVS “EK BHARAT-SHRESHTH BHARAT PARV” ShobhaYatra was accompanied by song, dance and artefacts in the background was a moment to witness.

Also other competitions were conducted for various events like Group Dance of different states and countries, Theatre on pertinent issues, Quiz, Creative Writing, Spell Bee, Debates, Painting and solo song.
